I love it. "Warning shots!", the man says. Those were COM warning shots. [ar15]
That looks like an interesting way to spend an afternoon.
-
I wonder which outfit it is guarding those ships?
-
Sharks gotta eat, too.
-
Seems to work a bit better than fire hoses ;)eh?

Tried and true method dating back before fire hoses.
Unless this ole girl was sliding up along side. Then, you probably oughta just hoist the white flag.

Q - What happens when a Somali pirate skiff rams a tanker?
A - Nothing.
Q - What happens when Somali pirates a set afoat without a skiff after tying to ram a tanker?
A - Large sushi. =D
And Rocketman - There was no way the folks who hired those shooters could know they were such lousy shots that they could not miss the skiff.
stay safe.

I think the folks that hired them got their money's worth. ;)
-
those were warning shots, for the second skiff.
do you think they are using .223 ?

Likely. Somali skiffs are wood and fiberglass, and I don't bet the skinnys wear body armor.

Dam, and these guys are also getting paid for this?
We could probably find 4 or 500 folks who would do this for free!

What's that old quip? Something about hours of mind-numbing boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror? Or in this case, high octane target practice.

And how often have we kicked around the idea of actually paying someone to let us do exactly that?
The world is not only cruel, it has a sardonic sense of humor.
stay safe.

For the Scripture says, "YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING," and "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
1Timothy5:18
I thought 1Tim5:18 was apropos for that video, in more ways than one.

One of the commentors posted a good question, what do they do about entering a port while armed?
-
"Warning shots," heh.
"Well, I was just firing a warning shot. Too bad I accidentally hit him in the head. I'm such a lousy shot. I guess I have to practice more."
In the spirit of not screwing around with these guys:

I like the sand bag emplacement they have.
You would think after they started shooting the second boat would have fallen back.
IMO if they only have .223 I would have waited till they were closer to be sure the job was done right.

I have precious little experience on boats, so just guessing out of sheer ignorance, but maybe their engines were too loud to hear the shots, and they couldn't see the guns, or see what was happening to the other boat?

Outboards tend to be loud but I think you would still be able the here a .223 being fired.
-
The second was also coming up from stern, so there is also the roar of the commercial ship engines and screws.
-
It was real neighborly of those guys to keep firing those warning shots after they can already rammed the ship. After all, they may not have heard the first few magazines.
-

Either the guards get off the boat with their toys before entering port or the toys get hidden (lots and lots of places to hide a couple of rifles and ammo on any decent sized ocean going ship) and the guards put on crew uniforms.

Can't find the article now but the security companies have their own heavily armed mother-ships in Int'l waters where the weapons are stored when the ship heads into port.

Getting that close to a freighter underway from an outboard powered boat....i'd be surprised if they heard the shots at all.
IMHO they should be using Incindeary and maybe tracers....I'd imagine they could get one of those skiffs to go up nicely....
-
Pirate skiff to Russian ship, "Pardon me while I smoke."

I recently saw an article where some left-leaning mouth breathers were asserting that there needed to be "strict international regulation" of the security firms' "arsenal ships" (that's what they called them) that provide small arms storage in international waters for the security teams on commercial vessels . . .
Made me wonder if they were getting a "cut" of the pirates' booty . . .

They cannot abide anyone doing anything without getting their permission.
Their whole psychotic philosophy is about subverting the individual into the collective and to get people into the collective means making them subject to all manner of rules.
The more folks operating outside the collective both succeeding and doing better than the collective cannot be tolerated for it undermines support for the ideal. People will start thinking about how valuable to their lives the collective is and maybe, just maybe start opting out. And if that happens what becomes of the putative masters?
They would have to content themselves with being assistant shift managers at Target or the like. And for folks that just know that they are the chosen ones due all manner of subservience and rewards commensurate with their brilliance that is a world cannot be allowed.

When did we start talking about Home Owner Associations? ???
-
Oh.
I thought he was talking about California.
-
If the nutshell fits....
Nah, I can't make that one work, forget it.
Where's Tallpine when you need him?
-
No! Don't get him started again! He's mostly settled down!
But the nutshell thing - that did work. Perfectly as a matter of fact.
-
The above remarks about California and Homeonwer's Associations points up that there seem to be enough "groupings" of people with the same affliction that I wonder when the American Psychiatric Association will include socialism in their Diagnostic Manual as a genuine mental disorder.
They could even use Warren's post above verbatim.
