Something fairly comprehensive but not necessarily technical reference books. Any suggestions?
I'm considering Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist but maybe that's too basic?
ASM has soem online classes but the membership alone is $175.00 and then the classes are ~$300.00 each. Since it doesn't directly apply to my job anymore, I'd have to pay for it myself.

No, just general nerdiness. I like materials.

The only idea I have is go to your local college bookstores and see if you can find anything used there. Or maybe any libraries nearby?

They have a few things that might interest you. Can you be more specific about what you're interested in? Blacksmithing? Welding? Casting? Or more of a theory approach?
