We have a saying around here, "If he was up your BUTT you'd know." Of course we substitute another word for "butt". Tongue

Are you looking at the Catamaran?  It doesn't look like it would clear that bridge in the picture, and the opticial illusion would appear that it just came from under the bridge.   However, its not pushing up a bow wake, therefore its probably not even underway.  My assumption is that its either just pulled out of one of the slips, or has been/is anchored where it sits, and that its facing towards open water in its current position.

No, I was just trying to sound like I got it.  I don't - have no idea what Harry put this up for.  The catamaran doesn't look close enough to the bridge to judge the height very well.

Behind the camera in Sydney, Australia...

Cheesy

Apparently I'm cool AND smart but very slow. It took me what, 3 days to figure that out? shocked

Tongue

The white structure behind the destroyer kind of clued me in, I think it's a concert hall?  Then I did a search on "Yellow Water Taxis" and the truth be known.

Would've been nice to know that we weren't looking for something IN the picture, but were supposed to identify WHERE the picture was taken...

That's what took me 3 days to figure out. Cheesy

Just this morning I remembered Harold was going to OZ and it all fell together.

I think he confused "Where's Waldo" with "Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego"

But that's ok, I hope he's having a blast. Is he going to Alice?

We  (THR) have a friend in Alice Springs. He's a gunny. That's why I ask whether you might make it there. I have a pretty good feeling he'd give you a warm welcome.

Have you tried the Vegemite?

How about a witchedy grub? (sp?)

Those are some beatiful shots there Harold, thanks. I'm assuming the translation of that sign by the billabong would read  "Please do not feed the crocs" Cheesy

The rock painting is fascinating.

Is that first pic from the Darling Harbor area?  I recognized the taxis but that was pretty much it.  The navy boat there reminded me of the pic I have of the Aussie Navy boat with a big red kangaroo on the superstructure.  I'll try and get that scanned soo.  It wasn't a digital pic.

I need a map of Australia to follow you along here. How much longer will you be there?

I imagine you took more pictures of the rock paintings. Would you mind sending me copies? I'd be interested in the history too if you have any. When you get a chance.

I'd also be interested in any pics of any authentic wommera and spears if you have any hanging around. I'm actually most interested in the wommera and it's relationship to it's particular spears. Size relationship, weight distribution things like that..

I have to get there myself. I had a real good contact that passed away on me and now I have no way to establish that kind of connection again. He's the only one I'd trust to take me to the places I want to go. He was one of the few that could. I'd love to hear about the logistics of your trip if you feel like discussing them some time.

VB is OK but Toohey's New was da shiznit when I was there.  Man, I drank that stuff like I'd never see it again.  Good thing, too, cuz I haven't.

Have fun, Harold.  I thought Sydney was the coolest city I have ever been to.  Not to mention the cleanest.

OK, I had to post this picture because I think it's kind of cool that 2 people could go to the same place at 2 different times and take pictures from virtually the same spot.  Mine was taken maybe 50 feet to the left of where Harold took his.

Five years ago when I was in Mexico on my honeymoon, I took a picture near some Mayan Ruins.  Last year, I saw nearly the same picture in a book by Galen Rowell.  The book was published before I took my picture, but I hadn't seen the book until that moment.

Sorry for the thread drift...

That was one of the best things about my trip to Australia.  I went there on mid-tour leave from Korea so it was a 10 hour flight almost straight south.  I think I crossed one time zone.  Not having to deal with jet lag was a great thing.
