Maybe he could have passed an anti "big gulp mead cup" law to stop the ancient unhealthiness:

He has a time machine.  Problem is, it's stuck in the 9th Century and he thinks he's lord of the realm.

If I had a working time machine, I'd be more than willing to let him try to establish his personal fiefdom over 9th Century Manhattan Island . . .

Wait wut? They had oversized softdrinks in ancient Egypt and in South America?

No matter how much evidence piles up, you won't see the multibillion dolar heart disease industry go away.
Calcification of the arteries?
Not caused by cheeseburgers- caused by bacterial infections and genetic mutations.
Unclogging arteries? $10,000 worth of medication per year won't fix it, but an IV containing EDTA (a detergent used for chelation therapy) will make those arteries sparkling new.

Someday future people will look back at our current healthcare about the same as we look at bloodletting drinking mercury to cure diseases.
