Title: UN to disarm middle aged and elderly?
Post by: HankB on April 04, 2013, 11:37:15 AM
OK, folks, I'm not going to vouch for anything at a website called The Daily Sheeple, but here's a link to a story claiming that the UN would like to disarm people 55 and over:

http://www.thedailysheeple.com/un-arms-trade-treaty-calls-for-disarmament-of-persons-55-and-older_042013

The story reads like a piece from The Onion, especially with some of the silly alternatives proposed to keep seniors safe. (" . . . a pith helmet with flashing headgear . . . "  Seriously?) The story is dated April 2, not April 1 . . .

The only reason I give this any credence at all is that I remember reading some time ago that the Brits were disarming old war vets because they were "too old" to keep old rifles they'd had on licence for decades, so this almost seems like it's the kind of nonsense some ignorant bureaucrat would come up with.

Had anyone else heard about this, preferably from a more credible source?

The sad part is that somehow the politicians are such whackadoodles that we have to actually think about whether or not something like this is parody.....
