It looks like a bear cub, only it's kind of late for one that small.

Send your picture to the nearest zoo with a request for them to come and pick it up.

stay safe.

My first thought was skunk, but lacking the stripe.

Some sort of badger/skunk/ferret/possum omnivorous mammal.  A weasel variant.

The holder needs a manicure, worse than the holdee.  Da widdle pawsies look vaguely bear-like, but I'm no outdoorsman, or botanist.

It could be a wolverine.  Wait until it grows up and see if it eats you.  If it does it is definantly a wolverine. ;/

It is a Barking Moonbat.  See if it has an Obama sticker under its tail.

First thing that came to my mind was "ferret".

A mink would probably be chewing fingers off the person holding it - they're nasty bastages!

Fistful and I nailed it. But I suppose it could be a baby mink or a baby possum. Walked into an advertiser's business one afternoon and the woman sitting behind the desk had a towel in her lap. Thought at first it was a kitten, but nope, she held up this baby possum that looked an awful lot like what you've got there. Only time in their lives they're actually cute.

A mustelid, marsupial or canine should not be this difficult to ID.

Wait a minute!

Seeing as how it's always Fistful's fault, how can he ever be right?

Only way I can see him picking the most correct answer is that he leaned over and copied from your paper.

stay safe.
