I've never heard this before. The way he's talking, it's easy to imagine you're sitting in a bar having a glass of whiskey with him and this is part of the conversation.

Thanks for posting that. It was good to hear his voice. Optimism is in short supply these days.

My father was a big fan of the John Wayne movies, so I grew up watching them with Dad.  A lot of who I am today came from watching the characters he played.  A sense of duty to country.  A strong sense of honor.  One of my most prized possessions is a record album (yep, vinyl) Dad bought around 30 years ago.
