Still gouging levels but not nearly as bad as before. $600 and free shipping. http://centerfiresystems.com/AKAGUN02.aspx?utm_source=streamsend&utm_medium=email&utm_content=18882959&utm_campaign=Free%2520Shipping%2520Site%2520Wide%2520on%2520Orders%2520over%2520%252499%2520%2526amp%253B%2520Deals%2520on%2520Select%2520Rifles

I remember when these were $300. :'(

My 2002 $299 WASR costs $390 in 2013 dollars as it is. More if you factor in fuel and food for a "real" inflation figure.
So by my estimate, only $100 of it is panic-pricing. :P

I'll be happy when Norinco SKS are no longer $500. i knew I shoulda bought the entire set when they were $129.

Just when I was thinking about selling my NIB MAK 90 for $2000.00.
No I don't really want to sell it. It's good to see things calming down. Walmart around here is still out of ammo but the LGS down south of me has black rifles, lowers, primers and powder in stock. 22 LR was still short on stock but he had some.

If it's acceptable to post about ARs in an AK thread (or vice versa):

I have to admit that aside from a few name brands that I know of, an AR is an AR is an AR. There are dozens of companies making AR's with fancy grips and stocks and handguards. It gets to where I ignore them unless they are a particular brand.
Good to hear on AK's though. There is a guy selling one on TexasCHLforum. It is the type with a foregrip and heavy barrel with a bunch of mags and a case of ammo for about $1200. If prices are dropped, I am not sure it is worth that much even with the ammo.
-
Yeah, I think the lack of multiple multiple domestic manufacturers is what's slowing the AK price drop compared to ARs.

$600 was about what I paid for my Romanian with all the trimmings in '07.

Hmmm, when I checked into it just the air fare for her would have been more than $600 =D

I don't think that's gonna happen, since they can no longer be imported. Any Norinco SKS in country now was already sold once upon arrival...

If I'd had my SKS still, I would have sold it in the panic for a profit. >:D
