Title: Making Momma Gia (and hippies) cry.
Post by: Scout26 on August 11, 2013, 12:15:34 PM
Robert and I are in T-Town (Teutopolis) visting my mom's side of the family this weekend.

Last night we went to the T-Town K of C's annual Tractor Pull.

The sight of every (over 300) tractor blowing diesel smoke (and sometimes flames) out their exhaust stacks like a steam locomotive would send enviro-whackos into epiletic fits.

They also had pick-up trucks (heavily modified) and old ('79, '84, '88) semi-trucks (mostly old Cab-overs) that pulled at the end of the night.  Robert thought is was cool as hell and now wants to move down here.  (I could buy a freaking McMansion and still have a pile a money left in the bank if I sold mine and moved here.)

Plus the STBX having to drive down here (4 hrs one way) to pick him up every Thursday at 3:30pm would be great (Yes, I would have to do it every other Sunday to him up at 7pm and every other opposite Saturday at 10am.)   But that would be so worth it.   In fact, I could probably take the train and stay with friends up there. >:D >:D    >:D >:D

Teutopolis.  Says here it's down by Effingham.  Southern IL is cool with me.  Making the STBX* leave the paved over corner of the state and drive through the cornfields would, I'm guessing, be a plus.
