Can anybody give me any tips on visiting there? Good places to stay / eat?

Isn't one of the professional Halls of Fame in Cooperstown?  Baseball or football?

Yup, that's our main destination.

Looks like not too many people have been there...

We went a few years ago mainly to buy some shop tools at Grizzly; nice little town. We stayed at one of the motels on the main drag right next to the LL baseball fields. The hillside overlooking the fields provided many evenings of free entertainment superior to anything commercial.
