Title: Two Articles on Pettiness of the Admin
Post by: MechAg94 on October 05, 2013, 11:52:47 AM
I saw these two articles that seem to represent some of the pettiness on the part of the administration.  They accuse Republicans of playing politics with the shutdown, but play the dirtiest politics themselves.  I am almost wanting to add this to our scandal list.

“It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

“During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so,” said Schlageter.

He explained, for example, if a Catholic family has a baptism scheduled for this weekend on an Air Force base staffed by a GS or contract priest, that baptism “is most likely cancelled.” If you are stationed in Japan or Korea and served by a GS or contract priest, “then you have no choice but to go without Mass this weekend.”

These are the same sort of stunts they pulled for the sequestration. The MSM doesn't report it, and people blame Republicans.

Unless the MSM reports it, it didn't happen.

Isn't that what governments do  ???

I'm surprised they haven't "closed" the interstates and US highways  ;/

Me, too.  Let's not give the petty little tyrant in the White House any ideas.

The Washington Free Beacon and CNS news are not exactly high profile, large subscriber/viewer based entities.

When NBCBSABCNN do stories about Park Ranger saying they were told to "Make it as Painful as Possible", then the general public might sit up and take notice.  But as it stands now the story out there the airwaves is that "Ebil Republicans !!!  Starvin' Chillun's, Momma's can't get no pills at the Hospidle. !!!  Ebil, Ebil Republicans !!!"

Wait, CNN is still open? I thought they were a wholly owned subsidiary of the White House (under democrat admins)

If you think the BS is bad with the gov't shutdown just wait until we roll the debt limit increase into the flap.

Idea!
Instead of shutting down parks, waterways, and monuments, why not shut down the southern border?
What comes across the border every day costs taxpayers (note, I didn't say 'government' I said 'Taxpayers') way more than it does to keep parks, waterways, and monuments open.

Yeah, the talking heads might explode on the 17th.

They were already going full on chicken little about it on the first day of the shutdown.

You're thinking of MSNBC.

Honestly yeah there is a difference. CNN is biased but nowhere near MSNBC levels.
