Title: BATFEIO blocking publication of Whistleblowers book
Post by: Scout26 on October 07, 2013, 10:22:11 AM
More shredding of the Constitution.  Not because it will release secrets or endanger investigations or prosecutions, but because it "hurt the morale of agents of the BATFE."

To which I say, "Suck it up, Buttercup."

Some friend who doesn't work for the agency should publish the material, with an "As told to me by BATman agent X" disclaimer.  >:D

So let me get this straight.
In order that their feelings don't get hurt from someone publishing a book about the batfes' extra-constitutional activities, they are going to urinate all over the constitution?
Makes sense.

When are the Republicans going to grow a spine and defund this agency as well as a few hundred others that exist for no other reason than to expand the reach of .gov power? I'd prefer tar and feathers, but I'll settle for mere firing.

A rhetorical question, surely.

It's not published yet.  It probably won't be, either.  And that really sucks.

The linked article said that the his ATF supervisors had turned down his request to seek outside employment.  (i.e. talk to a publisher)  That would imply he is still employed by the ATF.

Quote
Mr. Dodson began penning a book late last year about his role as the central whistleblower in the case and in June sought formal permission for outside employment that would allow him to engage a publisher and publish the book. He gave a copy of the manuscript to Washington superiors in late May and to his immediate superiors in Arizona in July.
Documents show that one of Mr. Dodson’s supervisors in Arizona, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Carlos Canino, rejected his request July 19 and was backed in the decision by the agent in charge of the office, Thomas G. Atteberry, four days later.
