Morons. With this guy's view on who should be able to have a gun (hint: him if he needed one, but not you), I predict this film will be something Streep leaves off of her resume.

I'm sure everyone is afraid at the NRA of this new and completely unprecedented attempt by Hollywood to paint the NRA in a bad light....
So, who's taking odds? I'm betting complete rave reviews from the critics, several Oscar nominations, and tumbleweeds rolling through the theatres where it is showing.
-
I wonder if any production company will finance it. That movie will never make a profit.

“I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

So they plan on pissing off over five million Americans?
Sounds like a good plan ;/

Why do I feel this will badly backfire on them. [popcorn] [popcorn]
Seems as if Hollywood has declared war on the rest of the country. Can we start shooting back?

I'm ready...

Weinstein owns the production company.
I'm predicting it never actually gets made.

Meh. Do your worst.

This. Moore tried a few years ago.

I'm perfectly willing to let him blow a wad of cash on this.

I want them to get this into as many theaters as possible. So no standing in the way! Don't protest this, let it happen.
Then we will get some solid numbers about how many people are actually willing to spend money to see such a movie. It's likely that the per-screen average will be so low that it will be one of the worst performing movies ever. That will take a lot of wind out of their sails.
Now, if I was the NRA I would make a movie as well and release it on the same day in the same theaters and that will give us a definite ratio of pro-gun support to anti-gun support.
EDIT: I forgot to reference another post of mine where I mentioned that pro-gun to anti-gun sentiment in the comments at Yahoo news stories runs 6, 8, 10 or more to one. So I expect an NRA movie to do at least as well.

The NRA counter movie could be cast with people from the board of directors, actors and entertainers like Tom Selleck, Ted Nugent, R. Lee Ermey to star in it and then get John Milius to produce/direct it.

Nah, that would draw attention to the other flick. They should not even start on their movie, until the other one has come out and flopped.

Right, it wouldn't have to be released on the same day to find the ratio mentioned above.
