Title: IED in CO?
Post by: Balog on February 18, 2014, 04:47:58 PM
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/state-news/bomb-scare-in-buena-vista-closes-downtown-buildings-schools-on-lockout-status

Lady found a mortar (!!!) round wired to a cell phone in her truck. I assumed it was a Mooninites vs Boston PD kind of thing but some talking head from the PD says it's legit. I guess we'll see.

Wow - Bueney is about as small town America as you can get.   :O

Never lived there, but we used to drive through there a lot, and sold a lot of firewood logs in BV - mostly to schoolteachers.  It was like our second home, shopping-wise.

That's a relief.  I'll note that I could make something real enough looking to really panic the cops for a while(anti-IED training before deployment), but I'm not about to.

Geocaches cause that kind of response once in a while.  I can see it with a container that looks like it could be a bomb, especially when hidden near a building or where there are a lot of people.  But they have even called the bomb squad for a film canister hidden in a tree in an open parking lot.  Why would you assume that's a bomb?
