They're in Clemson SC, I assume this is a college town? One wouldn't think of the South as such a rabidly liberal place that this would be a positive for their business. They pulled down their Bookface but you can still find them online.

I, on the other hand, like Clemson...the university and the town. Never been to the bar in question, but if some dudebro feels the need to use the word "*expletive deleted*bag" on a sign--well that tells you all you need to know.

60 years ago, I'm pretty sure the person of the same polical bent would have posted 'no black people allowed.'

Well considering the Democrat party back in the day were the ones trying to keep segregation in place...a fact that the black community prefers to ignore...

There's a meme that I've long believed we need to keep harping on. Make these places seem like the bad old segregationist south.
"We don't serve your kind here"

Looking at the sign again I have to say kudos to him for signing it.

With a little Windex, I can wipe up all the coffee I snorted all over the monitor!

It was all over their FB page, so I am guessing that it was the owner or that the owner must know.

The *expletive deleted*tard wouldn't have made the NYT or APS if he hadn't been an ahole with his sign.
“It’s a bit strange to me that you think you need to carry a gun when you’re having a cheeseburger,” Mr. Brock said.

so open carry is OK?
The Maidenhead in Serenity had a storage locker policy that kept the firearms locked up.

nice quote from the nyt.
Refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding, requesting that a woman not breast-feed at the table or trying to prevent a diner from wearing a gun can have serious business implications.
kudo's to the bar owner for letting his thoughts be known, although name calling is a 6 yo's game. more likely he was using this sign as an advertising gimmick, which seems to be a success. i highly doubt his report of ominous phone calls could be true as i have always found gun owners to be cool and rational.

OC is not legal in SC

Dumbest advertising gimmick ever, in a state where a hell of a lot of people either have their CCW, are thinking about getting their CCW, or are supportive of CCW even if they don't have one. This is SC, most people are gunowners here.

Its a private business, he can do what he wants.
I remember some folks on here who supported a private business owner who didn't want to cater (something like that) a meal for a gay marriage.

Eh, if he caters to the liberal college crowd, he's probably going to get an uptick in local business. The "*expletive deleted*bag' phrase is real popular with the kids these days. They'll all think he's hip.
It would be the same if a pub in Portland or Seattle did it. They'd probably get a hip-hip-hoorah from a majority of locals, even if the rest of the people in those states boycotted the place. If nothing else, he probably knows his local audience.

Except you are wrong, in that the colleges in SC tend not to like other areas.
My college, most students had guns in the cars, carried pocketknives, went shooting, etc. Clemson is much the same (my sister is a student there), just larger than my university was. Hell I had a prof that had a bunch of guns, mainly handguns but also an AK, and another who hailed from LA yet had a CCW permit here. We openly talked guns and shooting without any hassle. And college student organizations raffle off guns all the time around here.

even if 95% of the people think he is being unreasonable with the sign, if he can secure the business of the remaining 5% it's a win for him.

And look how that worked out ....
