Somebody got to the name before nanny Bloomberg did on FB. It's his new name for his $50 million campaign. It is listed as a gun safety site. 4000+ likes in less than 24 hours. Go give them your support. The Nanny and his minions are in a tizzy over it, you don't want to miss all the fun. ;)

Done. They are over 6000 now.

Done. It'll be interesting to see if FB takes it down once the phrase "every town for gun safety" is copyrighted . . .
-
Done. They are over 6000 now.
Whoa! They were only in the mid 4000's when I saw it this morning.
Gonna be a lot more difficult for Bloomberg's group to register the phrase. Seems it's already in popular use by another large (and rapidly growing) group on social media. >:D

How would that work legally I wonder? If the copyright comes after a group already legally purchased the domain name, wouldn't the copyright either not be approved, or at least postponed until the domain expires? It seems like it would be legally unethical to force someone that has already purchased a property right to give it up because someone else claims copyright after the fact.

Personally, I doubt the bloomies care too much about the legalities. The FB page isn't a domain in itself, and it's not purchased, so I don't think there's any way to bring legal pressure to bear on the person that set up the page. FB could remove it though, if they felt there was some kind of copyright infringement, or for any other reason for that matter.
If this was an actual domain name, I think the owner would have every right to keep it, and the copyright owner would have every right to buy it . . .
Plus, "legally unethical" sounds like a redundancy . . .
-
Page shows as a high search result on Yahoo. So, worth it for that aline, I would think, regardless of domain issues.

Ah, my reading comprehension error. I had thought the domain name was purchased. And roger on the redundancy. :)

Thanks all, the more the merrier, last look they were over 7000 and climbing rapidly. The story is that Titles and phrases like that are not copyrightable so Bloomberg has no legs there but he does have money and FB, of course, leans pretty far to the left so chances are he'll offer them dough and they'll pull it and give it to him. It sure is fun to stick it right up his wazoo for the time being though. I'm surprised it's still there at this point actually. It'll be interesting to watch this pan out.
-
Just about to pass 8000.

This will be another astroturf org that will disappear when Bloomberg tries a new (old) tack.
-
Yup, something between 30 and 40 likes per minute. Amazing. But you're right Bloomberg will throw money at it and win in the end. Maybe. More talk is it is certainly geared more towards actual gun safety than anything bloomberg has planned for it so that MIGHT take precedence.
-
11,831 including mine. I imagine FB will pull the page and give it to Bloomberg just anytime now.
-
Done !
-
13,530 now!
-
14753 and rising quickly.
-
Was ~9.6K when I "liked" yesterday. Pleased to see 5K more thumbing their noses at Bloomie.
-
I'll have to do my annual log-in to facebook tonight to like the page.
-
up to 16,610 likes . . . including mine. [popcorn]
-
I don't do Facebook, so I really don't know. Is 17000 "likes" a lot? That's where it is now, and climbing a few every second.

Well over 18,000 now. Should pass 20,000 in the next few hours.
It's not so much the numbers but how quickly they have been achieved. It's what they call "going viral". ;)

So Bookface took down the page, but apparently all of the local ETFGS pages are still up.
And now there's a new ETFGS page back up and running.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Everytown-for-Gun-Safety/255788701273534
I wonder how long this will go on.

Somebody will be banned from the Book of Face very soon, methinks. He's going against their lefty orthodoxy.

Can the Face really ban people? A new email address, and you're back in business, right?
-
Pretty much. I know it was approaching 30,000 last time I saw it. Poor Bloomy must have popped a cork. lol
-
They killed EFGS those BASTARDS!!

Here is the link to the original site now in the hands of bloomberg, go say "hello" ;)

I posted on that page. We'll see how long it lasts...

I think if the guy pt something in the fine print they were not associated with bloomburg no one could legally complain.

Nice of FB to give you the chance to report a page. The "It's harrassing me or someone I know." option seems to fit nicely.

Apparently they took down their own page.

Ok, I'm cornfused now. lol
Apparently someone else grabbed the name and reopened it and the Bloomys grabbed the same name but added .org to the end of the address. So, the one with no .org in the address is the new pro gun page and the one whose address ends in .org is the anti one. Likes on the pro gun page are above 3000, bloomy's is struggling to make it to 200. Hope this helps or at least doesn't confuse you more.

Pro gun page : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Everytown-for-Gun-Safety/255788701273534
Bloomberg anti gun page : https://www.facebook.com/everytownforgunsafety.org
-
The anti page is being flooded with pro comments and yes, the comments on the pic of the entire round coming out the barrel are good for many laughs. Not sure when they'll catch on to what's been happening but they have a lot of work ahead of them when they do. =D
-

Wow, they fail hard. Apparently, that photos been up for 5 hours, and has gotten nothing but pro-gun responses. The photo's still on their homepage, or whatever it's called, with the comments calling out their fail. Their whole Facebook page is eaten up with pro-gun sentiment.
I don't know how Facebook works, but can't they take it down, or delete the comments, or are they just off for the night? Are we sure the Bloomies really put up that page?
Guess we can enjoy it while it lasts.
-
And the comments are full of WIN!!
Now I'm actually glad Bloomberg started his new group. Totally worth it to read the comments at the link. Truly $50 mil well spent. =D
One of my favorite lines from the comments:
That looks like one of those 30-caliber clip ghost guns that fire 9,000 democracies per minute.

Bloomberg's page, so far as I know, was the only one using ".org" in their bookface handle. It's gone.

The image which brought us so much joy and fail was here:

But never fear. The pro-violence Bloombergers have another bookface page, which I think they've had since shortly after this whole kerfuffle kicked off.

Isn't "Demand Action" another one of Bloomberg's sock puppet groups that predates the "Everytown" scam?

That might explain why that page had hundreds of thousands of likes right off the bat. I saw it early on, when one of the pro-rape drones bragged about that page having far more likes than the pro-American site.
And the Failposter is also on my hard drive. Too choice not to right-click/save.

Yes, it was the correct one.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/20/no-not-a-parody-anti-gun-groups-depiction-of-a-speeding-bullet-has-gun-owners-shaking-their-heads/
While the image at first appeared to be created by Everytown for Gun Safety, an anti-gun campaign paid for by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and includes the web address of the group’s official website and logo, the Facebook page it was posted on is not the one the group’s website currently links to.
A spokesperson for the gun control group Demand Action told TheBlaze the Facebook page and image belongs to “cybersquatters,” not Bloomberg’s group.
Yeah. Uh-huh.
If that facebook page was faked, it was quite subtle.

how do you find that?

Not sure, I am reposting what other people found. I have seen screen shots that show where likees originate, so Facebook must have that feature somewhere.
