Chunking a MOAB at the Black Cube that harbors the meteorite that Muslims say manifests their god. One wonders if you destroy the idol that they worship, that most of them claim cannot be harmed, if it would destroy Islam. Some would say that would piss off the Muslims. But just about every place in the world where there is violence, war, sectarianism and terrorism it is fomented by Muslims in the name of their god, Allah. So, whose to piss off. They either are already, or quietly supporting the war that Islam has declared upon, well, everyone else.
What harm would it be for the civilized world getting serious about destroying the so called "holy" places of Islam? Just wondering......

ISIS themselves has stated it's a goal to destroy the Kaaba and Mecca. Their sect of Islam is descended from Saudi peninsula whahabism, but is even stricter, treating special places or mosques as holy sites as a form of idolatry. So the whole "just nuke Mecca" crowd would be royally pissing off roughly one half the Muslim world, and would actually play into the hands of the other half.
It would also make enemies of all the Muslim nations who are allies, where we have bases, or are at worst neutral or more or less minding their own business.
Short version: won't help, will just make things worse. And is what some enemies want.

What I find interesting about ISIS is like all other radicals they hate Westerners and our way of life but are using out technology and social media to further their cause. Nothing but a bunch of damn hypocrisy.

Ayup.
The only lasting "solution" to the problem is to go "Full Carthage" on them. And then the rock won't matter. Until there is a consensus to do that, ignore their savagery until it harms our interest and then go in and kill them until their capacity to threaten us is diminished to a tolerable level.

Maybe if we sent a team in to paint a Happy Face on it? I'm sure that fun image will cause people to calm down.
As an aside I have a friend that grew up in Jeddah which is just down the road from Mecca and he said people would make bank by taking rich pilgrims to the shrine during the major pilgrimages. Huge money. Pack six or seven people in a sedan or even more in a mini-van and off you go. He said you can get $200-300 a person and over a week or so make $1000s. But only if the regulators didn't catch you. Apparently they have the same sort of stupid anti-competition taxi laws we do.
