Title: Alan Eustace Beats Baumgartner Record
Post by: Ben on October 26, 2014, 10:15:33 AM
Google executive Alan Eustace just beat Baumgartner's record for high altitude parachute jump.

Interestingly, it looks like Eustace did it with much less equipment - basically strapped himself onto a balloon wearing an environmental suit of some kind. I can't find any decent videos that show him reaching terminal altitude and releasing. They all seem to be these highly edited snippets. Baumgartner had much better video of his events. Or maybe Google plans on selling their video or something and these videos are just the "trailers".

EDIT: I just saw that Google apparently had nothing to do with the event, so I'm likely wrong about them making any money or publicity off of it.

Poor Felix -- his record didn't last very long.
