Title: Washinton Post - Black Friday is the Rich Shaming the Poor
Post by: Ben on November 28, 2014, 11:39:25 PM
The Washington Post believes all the Black Friday brawl videos are the rich shaming the poor. I always figured it was the brawling shoppers shaming themselves. Also, as one self-described as poor commenter noted, truly poor people don't have the money to go out on Black Friday and get in a fight over an LED TV.

  I constantly wonder if people really believe that kind of social justice warrior imbecility, or if it's all just a big con.

A lot of both, I guess. The author knows good and well that Black Friday fight videos are not some kind of entertainment commissioned by the wealthy. Whether he realizes that the shoppers are not brought in as "tributes," but show up with all eagerness, is less certain. I mean, he does look and sound like a perfect moron.

But they're desperate. Desperate, I tell you!

Went to WallyWorld in late afternoon of Black Friday.  Bought a 60" led 1080 big screen for $498.  Mounted it to the wall with a $29 mount from Harbor Freight.  Fought no crowds.  Got in no fights.

Sat around afterwards eating leftovers and punkin pie whilst watching "Jack Reacher" again.

If the rich were watching me and found it entertaining, well... good for them.

I'm pretty sure most of the truly rich people out there don't find the poor riffraff fighting over stuff entertaining.

It just sounds a little low brow for the cultured elite.

Apparently you've never sat at the bar at the Four Seasons when roller derby was on. ;)

People who act in this fashion deserve to be shamed. Way to go, rich people?

Roller Derby is big in this yuppie town I live in. The elite liberal masses love their Derby Dames.
