Title: Technology & Tejon
Post by: El Tejon on October 16, 2006, 11:41:26 AM
Well, I found yet another reason why I should not be allowed near computers and should be sent to a technology re-education camp.  I have been wondering why I have had no sound at the computer in my office since I moved my office in July--I plugged the speaker wires up incorrectly!

I asked several people and finally called my phone/computer guy who came by at lunch.  He laughed, shook his head, audibly sighed (I don't think he should do that but he knows me too well), and then left saying he required no payment.

Live and learn.Cheesy

Our desktop techs are always pranking each other here where I work.

Some of them have their desks back to back like you see in the detective shows. So they put a "Y" splitter from one of their PC's to the other guy's speakers, then they played random sounds like burps and farts, and the ever popular:

"WOO HOO! HEY EVERYBODY! LOOK AT ME! IM WATCHING PORNO OVER HERE! WOO HOO!" sound clip.

They all had a good laugh over it, and then the victim went to work dilligently searching his PC for the hidden utility, trojan, virus etc. they used to do it to him. Of course, he never found it. He even formatted his PC, and they started playing sounds the very first time his newly formatted PC booted up to the Windows desktop.

He never thought to check his speaker wires.

Dual, now that is absolutely hilarious....  I'm gonna have to remember that one....

There used to be this little module you could load on Macintosh laptop computers.  It was known as PowerOrgasm.  Anytime the computer was plugged into the power cord, it would begin playing the "fake orgasm" from "When Harry Met Sally".  Absolutely hysterical to use at a Christian college, btw....

Don't ask me how I know that....
