Title: Practicing what they preach
Post by: Scout26 on April 10, 2015, 12:06:33 PM
In today's WaPo.  How many guns do presidential candidates own.

The only one that sounds like any kind of a gun owner other than the photo op kind is poor old Lindsey Graham who goes on to demonstrate that he is as crappy a gun collector as he is a politician. 12 guns? Lifetime of collecting? Poor thing.

There are 15 noteworthy contenders for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination. Together, they own at least 40 guns.

That's an average of 2.67 guns per candidate. I often haul more than that just for an afternoon at the range.

Owning and even carrying is second to voting.

Remember, DiFi owns and carries.

If you know the number of guns you have off the top of your head, you don't have very many.  (unless you just like the count)

These guys are also still in a primary.  Any perception of being anti-gun would be bad.

That's considerably less than the margin of error I have when someone I trust enough to answer asks me how many guns I own.

This.  If you know the number well enough to rattle  it off to the press,  you're fakeing interest.

Especially at their economic strata. I'd be more impressed if they averaged 2.93 machine guns per.

I would have to stop and count them.  At least I (unlike a buddy of mine) remember where and when I acquired any given piece.

Aside from doing an inventory to keep records, I am not going to count mine.  I don't like people asking how many I have and saying "I don't know" is easier than lying.

I sometimes find guns that I forgot I had...
