Title: Because We May Suck, But We still Hate You...
Post by: SADShooter on April 22, 2015, 12:45:52 PM
That shuddering sensation you may feel is not an earthquake, but the gravitational disruption caused by global fanboi sphincter-clenching.

HundK G36 has "precision issues" per Germany's Defense Minister, and will be replaced:

 :O Say it ain't so, Johannes. :O

At low round usage on a range, more than fine. High rate? Not so much.

Yeah, G36 can't take sustained rate of fire. I thought this was well known?

Seems they've gone astray.

Would be most deliciously funny if Germany replaces their rifles with something made in the US, Belgium, or France.

I do wonder what they mean by "precision issues"?   Are we talking inaccuracy due to barrel/parts wear?   I would like to find out exactly what the problem is.  Do they get "loose" with age/usage?

Inquiring minds want to know.

No

Or an AK variant...

..and NO!

The rifle WILL go back to the drawing board, expensive theatrical testing and redesigning will take place, after much fuss and hassle, a NEW AND IMPROVED H&K G36 will be presented as the pinnacle of German pride and engineering. H&K gets to sell their rifle to ze .gov twice in a row,  charge twice a much for their new rifles, charge a disposal fee for the old "defective" weapons... WINNING!, now you suck more and we really, really hate you!

Knew about this I think a couple years ago...some police departments that had gotten these rifles dropped them due to this problem.

I do wonder what they mean by "precision issues"?   Are we talking inaccuracy due to barrel/parts wear?   I would like to find out exactly what the problem is.  Do they get "loose" with age/usage?

The plastic softens with high heat and allows barrel shift.

I would think they could just use a different plastic. ???
I wonder if this affects their other rifles or their semi-autos for the US market?

It's the poor design of the G-36, not the plastic used that results in the issues.

The pistols and such are OK.
