Title: What Did You Do For Vets Day?
Post by: Cosmoline on November 11, 2006, 06:36:25 PM
Thanks to all the vets for their service!

I gave myself a small taste of suffering and rode the bike 30 miles round trip to the rifle range.  The old cruiser did well in midtown, but but the time I got into South Anchorage and down along Old Seward I was ready to buy a mountain bike from Chris.  The sidewalks are an absolute nightmare, when they exist at all.  And I lost all sensation in my stomach.  Unfortunately it was still there afterwards.

Capped off a few hundred 54R and worked the kinks out of my new .32 ACP Nagant cylinder and Beretta 3032.

I spent all day on horseback (again) sorting cows going to different places on our ranch.  I also called my sister to wish her a happy birthday.

That's what I needed today--a HORSE.  Or a team of dogs to tie to the Rat.

Shot up a buncha 9mm with the boys, many of whom are vets. Didn't pick on the Marine too much cause of the birthday thing.  grin

Lol.

I went to the National Geographic warehouse sale and bought $300 worth of books for $78, and just hung out with my family.  The only biking *I* got to do was when I rode mine to the grocery store to buy a steak.  The weather was so nice, we just had to grill out.  I took the long route to the store (ok, I went in the opposite direction for a bit) and ended up with a paltry 4 miles.

Slept in (rare thing for me), stayed warm/dry, read a good book, had a good meal, enjoyed a good drink, hung out with friends.

Everything I always wanted to do when I was out in the field or deployed.  Everything some of my buddies wanted to do and now can't.  RIP, guys, you earned it.  See you soon enough.

Slept in, cleaned up the house, delivered food to a friend who's sister was run over by a car.

Played RISK against the computer.

I haven't played RISK in ages.  Do they make an online multiplayer RISK game?  Might be fun to get some APS members together and try to take over the world...

Shot my very first ever rifle match. I came in almost dead last. Smiley
