Ted's pheasant hunt is making the rounds with the lefty hoplophobes. I find it both sad and hilarious to see them attempt to show their firearms expertise.

Oh, also hilarious was this exchange in the comments section (bolding mine):

See my comments below. I spent 15 years training how to use guns, and I was trained by experts and professionals.

apparently never where there was an over-under shotgun around

There never was one, because it was dangerous and not permitted. The instructors even demonstrated how dangerous it was if you tripped and fell.
Ha ha - the deadly assault double barrel!

So the entire shotgun is the "shoulder thing that goes up".
Just seeing the headline and the picture on the one site says all I needed see.

Maybe wonkette got her gun safety training from the same 'expurts' as this guy:

Holy wow....
I decided to make a few posts on that leftard site.
The amount of hatred thrown at me has made me decide that I will keep my guns.

<---- Hunter Safety Education instructor.
In case anyone missed it. He is holding it correctly. He is talking to people in front of him. Having the gun unloaded, broken open and pointed over his shoulder AWAY from people, is EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. It's called the field should carry. I'm very tempted to go get my instructor book, scan and post the "Proper Carry Methods" pages onto some of those sites.
But that would be casting pearls before swine, and I'm simply too lazy to argue with that much stupid.

I'm not up with the tea and crumpets shotgun crowd but isn't an open break action gun also permissible to carry with the action over the shoulder and the barrel forward and gripped by the hands?

IMO, either way should work as long as the action is open.

Just another indicator that it is likely that many of the anti-gun left after unhinged and don't trust themselves with a gun so they think no one else should have one either.

Reminds me of how the anti Christian crowd just love to "preach" their confused idea of Christianity back at Christians who they judge as sinners, lol.

Yes, but it isn't quite cricket like having the barrel(s) pointed away and the action opened for all whom one would be conversing with to see the empty chambers.
-
Of course all the liberals that do shoot skeet and the like all claim that Cruz is dead wrong and that the barrel should be forward...
