Did The Onion acquire The Blaze?

Regarding the main thrust of the article: so "minority" students are demanding to be segregated.  Rosa Parks must be spinning in her grave.

Endpoint? No. They're nowhere near their endpoint.

Endpoint? No. They're nowhere near their endpoint.

I think they're right at 180, given their parents and grandparents were tearing the "black only" structures down to end segregation in the name of equality. Now diversity requires segregation.

Well, yeah, the endpoint is typically mass graves, but I was talking about the logical endpoint of their social policy.

Well, separate is OK, as long as it's equal.  (If you are too young to remember you can look up the supreme court case)

"Logical" and "liberalism" coexist in a phrase about as well as "appetizing" and "lutefisk."

So it only works for scandinavians?

I have found that the liberal application of butter and dill to the lutefisk, and aquavit to me, makes the whole lutefisk adventure tolerable.  Lutefisk is quite a thing in the Ballard area of Seattle every Norwegian Constitution Day, which is where I have done this.

Lutefisk is awesome and unfortunately the sock monkey is right. Nowhere near the logical endpoint. If you segregate the cattle cars that is a lot closer.

Wouldn't it be funny if white students sued over segregation?  They ought to do it just as a history lesson.  I am sure the idiots who thought this up would not be deterred, but there is a small chance students might learn something.

I'd take it the other way. Have a demonstration in the quad. The signs should be supportive of separate housing for coloreds. Make sure some of the signs read "Segregation Forever."

And the common sense portion of the state of Connecticut is wondering why "puppetry" needs to be a major in a state university?  I hereby renounce mt citizenship in the state of Connecticut.   :P

Meh, let them live apart if they want.  Freedom of assoc and all that.

But make sure that white folks can have their white-only dorm, too.

A complaint about bias related incident in housing might be appropriate.

When I was in college a black student group was demanding funding for segregated facilities for blacks only.  I don't think they got it, but I did wonder if they would have had tests for skin color at the door.  Maybe self identifying as black would suffice these days.

Do I need to repeat the story of my blonde, blue eyed South African former co-worker demanding recognition as an African-American?

Not at all.  Sauce, goose, gander.

No, that won't work.  White people can't be segregated since they are all racist.  Black people should be segregated because they are all......not racist.   [tinfoil]

When I was in college working registration, I clearly remember such an individual identifying himself as African-American on a financial aid application.

Of course, I identified myself as Native American . . . after all, I WAS born here.
