The look on this kid's face is priceless. Thank goodness for dad.

Heh, dad is nonchalant Joe Cool there.
-
Sunglass dude should not have to buy his own drinks for a while.
-
The guy right above the kid has an odd look also.
Did the bat slip or was it thrown?

Well, superheroes tend to stand out that way.
-
He needs a Bat Phone App.
-
If those people in front of the kid hadn't ducked it would have been a non-issue and the kid could have stayed engrossed in his phone.
He is at the ball game, dad should use the bat on the phone after it stops. >:D

Dad arm properly deployed. It's nice to see it well used outside of a vehicle.
-
I would have LOL'ed if the bat destroyed his phone.

That's my thought as well. Good Dad. Very good dad.

Picture above. Bat flew in
stands. Kid was oblivious.
Dad's hand saved his head.
Large man behind him
is in an Incredibles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Incredibles)
jersey. Has strange look.

Here is an article that I found on it: http://latestnewsvideos.org/news/article-3482181/My-dad-s-hero-Father-s-lightening-fast-reflexes-save-son-8-flying-baseball-bat.html (http://latestnewsvideos.org/news/article-3482181/My-dad-s-hero-Father-s-lightening-fast-reflexes-save-son-8-flying-baseball-bat.html)
And this picture is a split second later:

And Dad hand (or mom hand) is the natural reflex developed by parents in the days of kids riding shotgun in cars without seat belts, preventing kid from flying into dashboard during sudden breaking. It has since been improved upon and adapted for use outside of a vehicle.

Huh. I always thought it was this:

As a kid, I always hated that. =D

*expletive deleted*it. I still hate it. I'm 32 years old and I still haven't broken my mother of the habit. Almost got wacked in the nose the last time I went some place with her.

Weird. There was no picture when I looked at the thread on my laptop. On my phone the picture is visible. Never had that happen before.

Every once in a while, an image in an APS post just won't appear for me. When I go back to the thread, or just refresh the page, it appears.

Made it to mainstream tonight. The father said it was just automatic.
I still do that with passengers, despite seat belts. bluestarlizzard would hate me if I had to stop suddenly.
No, it's not a "move." It's just a move.

Still "Good dad"

Looking at it with my laptop this morning and the pic is still not there. Refreshing did nothing. Not even a placeholder is visible. Weird.

Are you sure you don't have anything filtering your browsers? I would download the latest version of kaspersky's rescue disk and boot with that to see if anything is on there.
-
Yeah, sometimes I don't see images and it's because the image is on a site that UBlock Origin or AdBlock is blocking. Alternately sometimes at work one won't show as the corporate filter is blocking the image's site. Try turning off ad blocking to see if that's the cause.

I'll be 40 in June and my mom still does it to me. I caught myself doing it to an ex girlfriend a couple of times too.

It doesn't seem to be AdBlock. I disabled that and nothing changed. It's just the first image in this thread that seems to be blocked. I haven't noticed any other images missing in any other threads. Very strange.
I did a couple of scans on this laptop a few days ago just because. Malwarebytes and the stock Windows Defender. Nothing turned up, and I didn't expect anything to.

You can catch an armful of boobs that way. Not as much fun as you might imagine.

From the point of view of the boobs, you have no idea. Oww...

Heard a story on the radio about this. Reporter and dad both said t th e kid was sending a picture to mom, which would explain why he was looking at the phone. May be less modern kid living in condition white than originally thought.
-
I still want to know how the bat went from directly in front of the kid's head to directly behind the kid's head without even disturbing the kid's hat.
Isn't there a video somewhere?

Look at the orientation of the bat: in the first frame, the handle end is pointing away from the dad, and in the second it's pointing toward the dad. Looks like the dad's hand caused it to flip horizontally around the kid's head instead of into it.
-
That must of stung then.

Makes sense.
