I guess I could imagine Ferguson-level (i.e., multiple arsons, nightly scuffles with LE). It all depends on how well the local PD handles things.

Unlikely that there will be much internal rioting. Outside, it will be Chicago 1968. Mayor Daily, where are you when your country needs you?

I can't imagine that there will be nationwide violence of any significant scale. Yeah, there may be protesting, marches, etc. Maybe a flare-up here and there around those demonstrations. The thugs may take advantage in some places to try some looting/burning.
As for Cleveland, now that could get ugly. I'm 150 miles southwest of there, in a rural county, and EMA (county Emergency Management Agency) is already scheduling meetings for the county emergency response committee. Thought is Cleveland will be a magnet for nutjobs on both sides of this one, and a mix of the two may be explosive.

I guess the question will be if Trump rolls in his own supporters to help keep the professional lefty protesters in check. That could get interesting.

I don't know about riots, but I think possible entertainment value provided by the more hapless cannon fodder of the black lives matter movement (i.e. the SJWs) could be epic.

It'll be interesting for the contrast, I expected the usual suspects to trash the east side when the Tamir Rice verdict didn't go their way. All that happened was a smallish number of people being jackasses in traffic during rush hour.

I think if the Detroit elected critters and the police are smart, they'll be able to divert the rioters to some of the neighborhoods that have been abandoned where there are loads of wrecked empty houses around. They can burn those down and accomplish urban renewal by opening up vast tracts of farmland to give to the poor so they can live and work the land like the Olden Days.

I predict that outside of the convention center will resemble the 1968 Chicago riots on steriods. Those will also follow Trump thoughout the campaign. Whether it's enough to "get this party started" is debatable. However, I predict there will be Kent State type events as the left will push things far beyond the breaking point.

The Left has always managed to implement a self defeating prophecy. The more civil disturbance the more the fence sitters lean toward Trump.
