Title: WOW!!! Gary Sinese
Post by: Bob F. on June 05, 2016, 08:55:07 PM
Video keeps getting blurry....

Gary Sinise -- what a guy! Dare you to keep a dry eye with this video!

If you are an American, you need to watch this; it will bring tears of Pride & Thanks to your Soul for these Great Patriots.  It has been 8 years since I toured the WWII museum; wow – so many changes/additions since then!

Gary Sinise proudly walks in the footsteps of Bob Hope.

One had to be 17 to enlist in the military during WWII. While it is well known that people younger than 17 served in WWII (& other wars), we'll use 17 as a base...

The war ended in 1945 & this is 2016. That means the YOUNGEST surviving WWII veteran is 88. Keep that in mind when you watch the video. Quite a few do not look their age.

Something I'm sure you'll enjoy.

KUDOS to Gary Sinise!

Things like this, the Lt. Dan Band, and all of the USO work, I will watch any tv show or film that Gary Sinese does.

Wow!

And the vets are pretty impressive guys, too.  ;)

This anniversary really snuck up on me. I watched the video at home this morning, and then on the way to work, the radio guy said something about D-Day. [forehead smack]

My calendar at work notes four items for today:

Irish bank holiday
Queen Elizabeth's birthday (NZ)
Western Australia Day
the first day of Ramadan

Queen Elizabeth's birthday (NZ)

She has a different birthday in each country?

Who art thou, sirrah, to question Her Majesty?

It was probably a different date in NZ when she was born than it was in England.

Duh

Nope; 2:40AM in England is 1:40PM the same day in New Zealand.

Unless it's also a significantly different month in NZ at the moment, because she was born in April.  (And no, Elizabeth I was born in August, so it's not her birthday either.)

I believe the queen's birthday is not actually celebrated on the Day Of...and it may vary country to country

My calendar also lists 11 June as "Trooping the Colour (Queen Elizabeth's Official Birthday), while the 13th is QE's Birthday (Aus: all except WA)

Think I'd be a little annoyed if people kept shuffling my birthday around for their convenience.

You are, however, permitted to wait until the weekend to throw my surprise party, as I'll be spending tomorrow evening with my kids.
