Title: Chicago Journalist can't buy a gun.
Post by: Scout26 on June 19, 2016, 10:08:39 PM
Seems that the latest craze these days is for journalists to go to gun store and see how long it takes to buy an AR style rifle.

Except when they can't:

http://thisainthell.us/blog/?p=66402

Mr. Steinberg and I have gone round and round over guns before.  Especially when Illinois was passing the CCW law.  He went on his usual "Blood in the streets !!!  Wild West !!!  Gunfights over parking spaces !!!" rant.  While it's true that blood does run in the streets in Chicago, it's not the peaceful, and law-abiding doing the shooting.  It's mostly gang-bangers, drug dealers and other prohibited persons using illegally acquired guns shooting each other (and often innocent bystanders).  Sometimes it's the bad cops of the Chicago PD.

Yet, due to the pressure because CPD can't and won't police their own to get rid of the bad cops, the Chicago Police have gone "fetal".  Meaning that they are not being pro-active and only responding to calls,k and even then doing the minimum required to solve the issue.

Anyway, I have once again e-mailed Mr. Steinberg expressing my sincere hope that he be prosecuted for lying on Form 4473, but offering him hope that rarely does the Obama administration prosecute those crimes.  (44 out of 72,000 violations in 2010).  I can post his reply when it arrives.

Choice.

The bozos have been doing this stuff for years. I wish they would do something a little more to the point, like living in the projects for a month, or being stalked by a violent ex-boyfriend.

Oh boy. The guy had no idea Chicago has a 24-hour waiting period.

Heh.

"No, I wasn't denied because of my alcoholism or wife-beating.  I was denied because they hate journalists."

Sure thing, slappy.  Keep telling yourself that.

Those bad, bad people at the gun shop had denied him his chance at contracting PTSD and earning the National Defense medal for firing a bazooka auto cannon assault gun rifle.

The dud can't stay on script:

Quote
I admit, I was nervous. I’d never owned a gun before. And with the horror of Sunday’s Orlando massacre still echoing, even the pleasant summer day — the lush green trees, fluffy white clouds, blue sky — took on a grim aspect, the sweetness of fragile life flashing by as I headed into the Valley of Death.

Then:

Quote
I was looking forward to shooting my new rifle the next day. I’ve shot guns. It’s fun

Of course, I'm not surprised he can't keep his story straight.

He said he'd shot guns before, and then later said he'd never owned one. Doesn't look contradictory to me.

Just regular stupid "journalism."

Doesn't he need a FOID to buy a gun in Ill-annoy?

Is it common for a non-owner to have a FOID?

So buying/owning the gun makes him nervous and takes away his joy, but shooting the gun is fun.

In the article, he claims that the nice death merchants at the death rifle store brainwashed him. Or something.

They do the same to me.
