Anyone ever try it? Verdict?
I'm now working next to a Costco, and I'm working through a list of things I want to pick up in quantity, and coffee is one of those items...

OK. 100pct arabica, iirc.

It's good. I buy coffee at Aldi because it's pretty good too and is a lot cheaper. I haven't tried their new coffee that's a dollar cheaper per can, I assume it's a much worse blend of beans (mostly Rubusta)
-
It's good for an everyday coffee, especially at the price. I actually like their Costa Rican and Sumatran coffee better.

Agreed.

Yes.

OOOhhh....
I didn't know that they had a Sumatran coffee.
Screw the Colombian stuff, then, Sumatran coffee blows Juan Valdez right off his donkey.

It sometimes varies by Costco. Mine for some reason only stocks it seasonally. Once I discovered that, I bought in coffee apocalypse quantities so I have some for the full year. Though Costa Rican is also quite good, as is their Rwandan, which, for a dark roast, I find quite mild.

The rawandan coffee tastes like charcoal to me, prefer the CR coffee.

If I had to order their current coffee crop (of Kirkland brand), I would go Sumatran, Costa Rican, Rwandan. For my taste anyways.

I might have gotten a bad batch...

I used to buy the Costco stuff.... But as a Brazilian, I find my tastes always gravitate back to Brazilian coffee.... Probably because it's what I grew up on.... Even though it's not whole bean, this is what I go to anymore:

Annoyed by the "GLUTEN FREE!" part of the listing (it's coffee - no *expletive deleted*it, Sherlock) but it's probably the best tasting/reasonably priced Brazilian coffee we can get up here (short of roasting my own)

That "gluten free" crap bugs me on all foods. I want extra gluten and extra MSG.

You are a Brazilian, or you have a Brizilian?
Wait... Don't want to know...

I'm guessing it's both.

1. You'd be amazed at the non-dairy products that have gluten in them.
2. For people with Celiac's or MTHFR or other allergies / sensitivities the labeling is incredibly helpful.

I like the San Francisco Bay brand from Costco, or their house Kona. Haven't tried all of their different varieties though.

I've never seen their Kona, though if its like most Kona blends its no more then about 5% of the good stuff. This stuff, out of a french press, is the best I've ever had.

Trader Joe's Kona blend was EXTREMELY good, or at least it was the last time I had it maybe 10 years ago.

About on par with the Jamaican Blue Mountain blends. Got my hands on some pure Blue Mountain coffee some years back. Husbanded it like I was doling out the Elixir of Life. Damn near cried when I ran out. Screw weed, cocaine, and meth. Smuggle me some Blue Mountain.
-
I've had Blue Mountain in the past any number of times... The good stuff.
It just never impressed me as being that head and shoulders above a good Sumatra or an Ethopian Harrar, and certainly not that much better to justify the ungodly price.

Yep, brought some back from jamaica a few years ago- probably the only good thing about jamaica.
