NY Times currently reporting 82% chance of a President Trump.....
When they started this afternoon at 80% chance for President Clinton.
And it appears that everyone is refusing to call FL even though >99% of votes are counted and Trump holds a 1.5% lead in that state.....
-
Oh, and Trump has a freaking 11+ percent lead in OHIO????
-
To be fair, the media's pretty gunshy about calling anything in Florida. :)
-
Oh, and Trump has a freaking 11+ percent lead in OHIO????
only 67% of the results are in.
-
Fox has called Ohio for trump with 78%
I just hate these teasers that give us a glimmer of hope only smash the dream at the last minute.
-
I'm flabbergasted myself.

That's what happened with the Virginia "results". It went from red to blue in a blink of an eye.
-
I'll breath easier when Florida is called for Trump.
-
NYT just upped their place to 91% for Trump
-
"That's what happened with the Virginia "results". It went from red to blue in a blink of an eye."
Yep. The large population centers -- Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, and the Tidewater region tend to report later than the more rural areas. The rural areas are generally pretty red.
But the *expletive deleted*ing carpetbagger liberal aholes who *expletive deleted*it all over their nests in Maryland and decided that Northern Virginia looked like a great place to create the "New Maryland" over the last 20 years have descended on us like a plague of locusts.
They're why we have that carpetbagger ahole liberal scum Terry "Raise taxes everyone gets Medicaid ban guns!" McAuliffe as governor.
-
FOX call NC for Trump
-
I really didn't see that coming.
-
I just heard on Fox Business that FL won't get called for a long while yet. Gun shy I reckon. :)

What if everyone who voted Johnson had voted trump?
-
Now 93%....
Holy crap....
I've been sick to my stomach all day. Because frankly, as much as I don't like Trump, the thought of Hillary as president scared the ever loving snot out of me. Especially if the dems won a majority in the senate....
Trump is not perfect. Hell, he's not even all that good.
But Hillary is downright evil. And I did not want to trust her with two, maybe even more, SCOTUS nominations
ETA:
Just for grins, I was gonna go look at DU and see how the liberal angst was..... Turns out they got hacked and hacked hard this afternoon, likely won't be back up until tomorrow. The angst on their FB page is pretty tasty though.... :D
-
Well, what's the math say? Looks like Johnson bled off enough votes in Virginia to throw the state to Clinton.
-
" Because frankly, as much as I don't like Trump, the thought of Hillary as president scared the ever loving snot out of me."
Right there with you.
But... Trump also scares the ever living hell out of me.
-

Yep.
Vote your conscience (to elect someone with no conscience)!
-
Where are you guys seeing this percentage estimator for the New York Times?
-
Mike:

Holy crap, that thing is predicting 300 electoral college votes for Clinton...

Oh I know how it works. That's why I'm skeptical of some of the states getting called right now and am using the NYT results page. They have the percentage of how much of the state has reported in. I'm looking at that rather than who they are calling it for.
I will say that I'm happy with my local race for House. Nah nah nah, you anti gun witch. :P
-
West Coast prelim numbers are due in a few minutes. The big news is that they're saying that at this point the CA numbers won't matter much. That is huge for Trump. It's really gonna come down to a few nailbiter states.
-
>95%
-
You've got to remember, not all states vote the same way, nor do all major metro areas always report late.
They predict what's happening/going to happen in a state not just by percentage of the vote that's in, but WHERE that vote's coming from. That's how they can make those predictions. The major metro areas in Virginia have reported late for decades, where as in Pennsylvania it's generally the more rural areas that have reported late because of the distances involved getting votes from the outlying parts of the county.
I covered elections in Pennsylvania as a reporter in a rural county (Mifflin) and you could accurately set your watch on Philadelphia and Pittsburgh being about 3/4 reported before the last of the Mifflin County ballot boxes were finally delivered.
-
Fox Business just called FL for Trump.
-
Real Clear Politics just moved Florida into the Trump column
-
"Nah nah nah, you anti gun witch."
Who was that?
My house district wasn't challenged. Gerry Connolly, the anti-gun liberal puke, ran unopposed. I've known Gerry for almost 20 years, and really like the guy. I really thought I was making progress with him on the firearms front when he was on the Fairfax County board of supervisors, but he went full bore anti-gun asshat when he went to Congress to the point where I told him a few years ago that he would never get my vote ever again.
Still like the guy on a persona level, but he doesn't represent me. He just represents the kneejerk "coddle the criminal and crush the law-abiding gun owner" contingent of the Democratic party.

They're saying that WI may be the make or break state.

Yep with PA and MI too close to call. Whoever get 2 out of those 3 will be president.
I've been home 8:45pm CST. My polling place had 4 precincts. 3 of 4 went Trump. 1143 total voters (Not including those who early voted of which we had well over 200. 987 of today's voters were previously registered. The balance were same day register and vote (mostly college students, from Wheaton College).
I have to admit, I was also very surprised at how well Trump is doing. Taking FL, NC, and OH in short order was very surprising. I actually expected to do a quick check, see it was a nail-biter (or a Clinton Blow-out) and go to bed and see who won (or it being still too close to call) when I got up in the morning.
I'm going to stay for a while, simply because I want to stream Hillary's concession speech... [popcorn] [popcorn] [popcorn] [popcorn] [popcorn]

Yeah, I meant to switch back to Netflix at 8:30 and go to bed early. Now I can't seem to turn the talking heads off.
I'm loving the shots of the Democratic Party headquarters. Seeing them all bug eyed and frightened is pretty funny.

I also planned on hitting the rack and checking in the morning. Instead, I've got Fox Business on the TV and am hitting the various MSM sites on the confuser to see the wailing. It's glorious. Rachel Maddow was apparently crying on air. Twichy had "celebrity" reactions, which were also pretty hilarious.
It also looks like a lot of libs are putting Comey in their crosshairs as the main guy in the conspiracy to sink Clinton.

PA is starting to lean Trump. Probably won't finish that way but.fun to watch.

How do you figure? The NYT is predicting that Trump will get over 300 electoral votes, and HRC won't get close to 250.

That was a direct response about PA, not the overall election.
I'm fascinated at how close these races are going.

Liberal websites are bemoaning the fact that the liberal areas (Philly) of PA have all reported, and the rural areas are still coming in. Trump is currently leading and will probably increase in his lead.
The liberal websites are already starting with the "Is it 1980 all over again?" and "How were the polls so wrong?"

What about Lebanon county? That's totally unreported as of yet. 55 precients. And it's right next to a blue county.

My understanding is that Lebanon County is very, very Red. Went heavily for Romney in 2012. Hence, the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the liberal media....

WSJ states:
Down to Double Digits in New Hampshire
Coming down to the wire: Mr. Trump is ahead of Mrs. Clinton in New Hampshire right now by a staggering 15 votes, with 82% of precincts reporting.
Mrs. Clinton needs to win New Hampshire to keep her hopes of victory alive.
-
RCP has 255/215 Trump/Clinton. Trump needs either PA or MI to win (or combo platter of the smaller states). Clinton needs to basically win-out.
I imagine there's all kinds of objects being flung in the Clinton suite while watching the returns... Oh to be a fly on the wall there.

Fox News calls WI for Trump....
Helllloooooooo President Trump.
And it looks like the R's will hold-on to both houses of Congress.

And will find numerous excuses as to why they can't get things done.

I just learned something new. Maine splits their electoral votes. Looks like Clinton is getting some and Trump is getting one or two.
I would find it very interesting if CA did that. I've always thought that we've had too many electoral votes in the control of the coast. In Maine they are apparently split by congressional district and by popular vote. If they did that in CA, based on populations and locations, the conservative candidate could probably lock in a good 20 votes out of the 55.

Same in Nebraska.

Pretty sure the door just got slammed in Clinton's face at this point......

All states should be that way. It's hardly fair that a candidate can get 48 percent of the votes in a state, but get zero electoral votes.
Of course, I'm also of the opinion that the electoral college is obsolete and should be abolished. There were valid reasons for it 240 years ago. I don't see much justification for it today.
-
Podesta just basically said there will be no concession tonight. He just told the crowd at the Javitz Center to go home and wait till morning to hear more.
Didn't the Clinton camp attack Trump for saying he wouldn't rule out contesting the results?
-
Why not admit defeat with class? like al gore or John Kerry...Oh wait, never mind.
While I can't say I'm giddy over a trump victory, I am breathing a big sigh of relief thinking Supreme Court etc.

Looking at Fox this morning at 0600, Trump is ahead by less than 100k votes in the popular vote.
This may be another occasion where the Electoral College and the popular vote is way out of sync.
In any event, I am happily planning my dinner menu, of which the main course will be heaping platters of crow marinated in gobsmack.

Local news here in Ohio featuring Democrats complaining that the people in Cleveland did not come out in the numbers they expected, so they couldn't overcome the "uneducated white male vote" in the rural areas. Should be an interesting day around the Courthouse.

Absolutely gobsmacked that Pennsylvania went Republican. First time since the 1980s.

My dad has voted Constitution Party since 2004, but he got on the Trump train a while ago, even putting a Trump yard sign in the back glass of his Buick. I should have known, if Trump could bring people like him back into the fold, he could win.

Probably was making her way to the airport =D
I'm guessing Argentina...

It's funny, because I think a lot of people are in my boat in that Trump is not "my candidate", but I'm gloating.
I've never gloated after an election. Even when I was in a fed.gov office in 2000 where only three of us were conservatives. I felt it better to work with people than throw it in their faces. But you know what? All through the Bush years I heard the "not my President" crap from those same people. All through the Obama years, they played the "we won, you lost, suck it!" game.
I think a lot of people experienced that, and a lot of people got sick of it. So even if Trump isn't our candidate, he's the vehicle of us saying "STFU!!!"
So I'm gloating. I'm gloating about Democratic Underground being offline and it being a "Trump plot". I'm gloating about the Canadian Immigration site being overwhelmed to the point of breaking. I'm gloating that all the MSM outlets that attempted to influence the election because they "knew better" than me are in a spiral. I'm especially gloating because of the reactions of all the "celebrities" who thought they were speaking for "the majority of Americans".
And now the "not my President" stuff is starting all over again. All the people who would have, if Clinton won, told all of us Neanderthals to STFU because we lost and they won, that it's not our world anymore, are now doing exactly what they tell us we're not allowed to do. Something you don't generally see when the roles are reversed. So they all can STFU - I'm gloating.
-
It's funny, because I think a lot of people are in my boat in that Trump is not "my candidate", but I'm gloating.
Gloat, nothin'. I'm incredibly relieved that someone like Hillary Clinton could not, after all, win election in the current United States of America. As my dad put it, God's given us a reprieve. There may be hope for this country, after all.
I am, however, thinking about going down that queer lives matter coffeeshop in St. Louis, just to enjoy all the sad.
-
Didn't the Clinton camp attack Trump for saying he wouldn't rule out contesting the results?
Rather forcefully, IIRC.

Not really. They were all drunk by 9pm and for all I know, she was too.
-
It isn't that this country isn't ready for a woman president either. Just give us one that is worthy of being president. We need an American Margaret Thatcher or hell Madeleine Albright. Actually a shame that she couldn't have been POTUS if the need had came up.
-
Gloat, nothin'. I'm incredibly relieved that someone like Hillary Clinton could not, after all, win buy and cheat her way to an election in the current United States of America.
Fixed it for you.
As my dad put it, God's given us a reprieve. There may be hope for this country, after all.
My sentiments [almost] exactly. As the voting started, I found myself wishing on a star and telling myself that, if people get the government they deserve, the United States couldn't possibly be so far gone that we actually deserve someone like HRC.
-
... Oh, I just had a delicious thought...
What are the Clinton's going to do now when all the companies and countries that paid her for favorable treatment come back looking for a return on their investment?
I know, they are probably going to just write it off as a loss, but I can dream, right?
-
Google says Trump has 276. Networks aren't saying.
WAPO echoes 276.
09:35 a.m. NYT is still saying Trump 305, HRC 233. Same thing they were predicting when I went to bed last night.

Although that is also the case, the problem is that Obama brought out a FAR higher percentage of the black vote than any other candidate will likely ever be able to do.
Without that record turnout, the polls were off (because they used 2012 as a baseline). The Democrats thought that they just had the black vote locked up like Obama did forever.

And, at least here in Ohio, the Dems all but ignored the rural areas, thinking that carrying the big cities would mean enough votes to secure the electoral votes. Got that one wrong. Hubris precedes the fall...
-
The Democrats thought that they just had the black vote locked up like Obama did forever.
I recall predicting that the Democratic Party would stick with the brown guy formula, having been so successful (electorally) with Obama. It looks like I was smarter than they were.
The Dem's can only blame themselves. They phoned this thing in, picking a candidate because it was her turn, and figuring people would vote for her because girl. Sorry, but women are not a monolithic voting bloc, as black Americans disgracefully choose to be. And identity politics is apparently not strong enough to overcome negatives as high as Clinton's.
-

Oh, I'm hearing cries of "sexist America" echoing through the hallways. I want to scream back that this wasn't an anti-woman vote, it was an anti-Hillary vote, and there is a significant and very important difference. Hillary didn't lose because she's a woman. She lost because she's Hillary, with all of the baggage that comes with it.
-
Fascinating (to me) is that I just saw that Trump took over 80% of the evangelical vote. Despite all the stuff that came out about his essentially unchristian and immoral past behavior, they still thought, overwhelmingly, that he would be better than Clinton.
I think that's more of a statement about Clinton than Trump. This is really reinforcing my theory that Trump is basically a "widget" representing absolute dissatisfaction with status quo.
-

I think a lot of that is the confidence those folks have in Pence. I think Pence brought votes to Trump. I don't think Kaine brought votes to Hillary.

This is where I thought Trump used a brilliant strategy. The dems figured they had the black and hispanic vote locked, and that those groups are monolithic voters. His, "What have you got to lose?" strategy worked.
-

I can see that. I still, don't know much about Pence*, but just from the highlights I saw of his debate with Kaine, he blew everybody else out of the water in appearing presidential.
* I really need to study up. Not to put on the tinfoil, but I bet there are enough people who have lost it over this election that we might see a presidential assassination attempt.
-
Comment from last night on another site. Sums up my thoughts perfectly:
How horrible a candidate must you be to lose with all the news media, all the entertainment and arts industries, all academia, all the bureaucrats, all pundits, etc. to a guy hated by his own party who basically winged it during the whole campaign?
-

That is just what I was telling somebody here at work. The people that dislike Obama didn't do anything because the don't want to see him as a martyr, but the people that dislike Trump don't think that way. I believe that the Secret Service is going to have their hands full for the next 4 years.

Her election losing streak remains. The only election she ever won was a softball setup for the New York senate seat. She was/is very influential among Democrat operatives, but has never been a great candidate.

I think she won two such Senate elections, but yeah. That's something I've been pointing out for a while.

I got to hear an old white dude rant about Pres. Trump being the fault of social media, since we don't talk to each other anymore.

Are you speaking of yourself in the third person?
-
"Oh, I'm hearing cries of "sexist America" echoing through the hallways."
Someone laid that on me a couple of months ago.
Anchored her sorry ass by saying "I have absolutely NO problem with a woman president. I have LOTS of problems with Hillary Clinton as president. They can be exclusive positions. If you can't see that, your own stupidity is blinding you."
You'd of think that I had pissed on her shoes by the way she reacted. I just laughed at her.

Not talking to people, except online, is my favorite pastime.

I found a respected commentator that best sums up my feelings today:

I'm just happy as all getout.
I had decided not to watch the results as they came in, but got lured into it anyhow.
I kind of figured she was going to concede when Podesta came out and dismissed the crowd in Javits hall. I figured the strategy there was to not cause rioting or weeping or wailing or garment-rending or ash-covering or fainting or whatever when she did concede publicly.
Sure enough, word came through about ten-fifteen minutes later, then Pence took the podium at the Hilton(?) to introduce the next President.
After that, it was really funny to watch most of the newspeople and pundits subtly backtracking and trying to analyze the victory and explaining his appeal to the voters.
And what makattack posted.

I don't think these people get sexism (or 8 and 4 years ago it was racism) Judgement based on gender (or race) is sexism. The biggest sexist in this election? Those who voted for Hilary *because* she is a woman.

Yale professor makes midterm optional for students who are distraught over Trump's victory:

Aww, the poor little snowflakes. I'm sure that option won't be abused at all ...

And I'm sure the offer would have been made available to the two students at the school who might have asked for it if Hillary won.

NY Times currently reporting 82% chance of a President Trump.....
When they started this afternoon at 80% chance for President Clinton.
And it appears that everyone is refusing to call FL even though >99% of votes are counted and Trump holds a 1.5% lead in that state.....
only those that refused to see, were floored. This was bound to happen, and Trump won despite all the shenanigans of the left.
-
I'm surprised she conceded. Some of these states are really close on vote count. he could have kept things going for weeks at least and give her ops time to pull off some hijinks.

Me too. Her people must have really seen no way forward.
Or, possibly, she saw the way(s) Gore embarrassed himself, and didn't want to go through with it. I also wonder if the thought of a narrow victory against a guy like Trump was so humiliating to her, that it wasn't quite worth it.

I have no doubt that they are capable of that kind of hijinks but there is risk and it takes some planning ahead. I wonder if they were so full of themselves that they didn't figure the risk was worth taking.

Or maybe she was afraid of all the irregularities a review might reveal ... I think that Trump won in spite of massive voter fraud ...
:old:
-
The New York Times is still calling it 305 to 233. That's a LOT of electoral votes to make up. I don't think she and her handlers saw any way they could catch up.

That's what I was thinking, too, remembering those 83 ballots sent to one address with 83 different names in California. Not sure that was verified, but I don't find it beyond belief. And Chicago's fraudulent voting is almost an institution in and of itself.

Cornell students hold ‘Cry In’ over Trump victory
“I’m quite terrified, honestly,” one student told the campus newspaper as she took part in the event. “It’s saying that people are really given [sic] into fear-mongering. They are willing to put people down based on their identity just so that they would feel vindicated that they would be getting rid of ‘Crooked Hillary.'”
Notice how Trump won through "fear-mongering," but the leftists are the ones who keep talking about how "terrified" they are. But, hey, at least the left doesn't put people down based on their identity. ;/

Virginia Tech is among the other colleges setting up "Safe Spaces" for the whiners.
Funny. I don't remember colleges doing that when Romney lost...

My fiance's VERY gay coworker is threatening to kill himself over Trump winning. He is convinced when Trump takes office being gay will be illegal and he is going to jail. He was crying all day at the office yesterday, literally got nothing done at work.
Her mom is freaking the hell out, told her that after the inauguration birth control will no longer be available and the emancipation proclamation will be rescinded.

And, when none of that happens, they'll be CERTAIN that the next Republican will do it.

Aww...send him a present to lift his spirits.

The illusions some of these ...... liberals have are incredible.

It's a cry for help... so help them! Offer them a tree, rope and a chair! They will back down just like Sharpton, Rosie and the rest about leaving the US (dang it!) and butch up and maybe grow up.

Savage. I approve.

Her mom is freaking the hell out, told her that after the inauguration birth control will no longer be available...
At last! Birth control prohibition, that choicest plum of Republican aspirations, will be ours! All we've worked for all these years! All the nights spent in smoke-filled rooms, the minority votes ruthlessly suppressed, the wedding cakes we cruelly declined to bake, the tax rates we savagely lowered, the unarmed black teenagers we gleefully shot down! After all this time, it finally pays off!

At last! Birth control prohibition,
Abstinence banned by Presidential decree! About time!

...the emancipation proclamation will be rescinded.
Meaning slavery will be legal in California, once it secedes.

What is more ignorant? That they think one man in this country has the power to bring back slavery or that they don't realize there were constitutional amendments passed that take care of that little problem?
And that they don't seem to realize that allowing unlimited illegal immigration is partly so the rich elite can have their slaves without actual slavery.
-
Where the hell do people come up with this *expletive deleted*it? :O
At least when Obama won, our RKBA paranoia was justified...
And C-ville is also providing counseling to those in need in the wake of this very distressing event. ;/ Funding approved by the city board meeting last night.

Either that or call the police and report the guy is suicidal and you think he may try to hurt other people also.
As for the angst tantrum at the work place, that needs to be reported to HR
-

Ohhh... that's good.
I need to remember that one for the ammo pile on facebookz and elsewhere..

Ohhh... that's good.
It also happens to be 100% correct.

Abstinence banned by Presidential decree! About time!
And if anyone is the right person to ban abstinence, it's Donald Trump. :)
