Title: What is this?
Post by: Twycross on December 18, 2006, 09:31:54 PM
I saw a guy today with a weird symbol on his jacket, one I haven't seen before. It was like the jewish six-pointed star, but the top two protrusions were rounded off into semi-circles instead of points. It was surrounded by some sort of wreath I couldn't fully make out.

And being a curious sort, I'm wondering if anyone here knows what this is a symbol of?

Thanks!

*grumble* And here I was hoping that it was some sort of secret society badge or neo-nazi gang emblem.   cheesy

I keep seeing stickers that are a blue square with a fat yellow equals sign in the middle. What is that for?

I finally figured out the AA sticker. That stuff drives me crazy.

I just googled "blue square equals sign" and looked at the first few results.  Google is amazing.

Thanks. It's just one of those things that I wonder about whenever I see it on the car in front of me, but it's gone from my mind by the time I'm in front of a computer.

Man with a gun.  I use that symbol as my avatar on non-gun forum.

Would that still be used, or is it a relic from Depression days?

It dates back that far, but I don't know if anyone still uses those symbols.

Those stupid "dove's foot peace signs" are relics from the Sixties and I still see them all over...  rolleyes

I know I'm taking this too seriously, but symbols used by hobos probably never gained the widespread noteriety of something like the peace symbol.  Anybody might want to express a wish for peace.  Very few people were interested in identifying who had a gun in their house.

Sorry, carry on with the light-hearted thread now.

I should've put some sort of smiley in that last post fistful.  I was trying to be funny, not critique your valid question.

The hobo "man with a gun" symbol could be a neat thing to revitalize among gunnies, like "molon labe" gear, kind of a secret handshake.
