Sorry it's Buzzfeed, but I thought these were really interesting photos of the state of the NYC subway in the 1980s. I remember always reading about the Guardian Angel "vigilantes" in a thing we had back then called a newspaper. :)

What I always found interesting was that the lady that was the radio voice in that movie, later played "The Chief" in Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.
Also I will always give Giuliani credit for cleaning up New York. Not that that necessarily transfers to the national stage...(it may. I think he would be slightly better then Jeff Sessions.)
