Title: Why don't sofas come with the plywood already installed?
Post by: Perd Hapley on August 03, 2018, 08:29:23 PM
It's now much easier to get up from the sofa, but I don't really want to.

Plywood?

I'm not sure what you're talking about.

You put plywood under the cushions when the springs break.

Serpentine springs.  They're asking a lot of those springs.  I just filled the space with old books and stuff.  Design defect.  They should have figured out a better way of doing it, although I guess just more of them would've done the trick.

AKA zig-zag springs.

Repairing them seems to be a specialty occupation.

Hmm..  Or even just going to box springs like under a mattress.  Massive more durability.

the trick:  They want you to buy a new sofa every 5-10 years.
