I think many of us suspected that people within Trump's own team were doing their best to undermine him. Now we know:

That is assuming that the NYT didn't make up the story out of whole cloth. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
-
So the resistance wants us to know they hate and reject democratic elections and will work to subvert the will of the people.
Got it

There are over 1,200 people that can be referred to as "Senior Administration Officials".
They didn't have to make it up, just find some junior lackey that they classify as a "Senior Administration Official".

I am no fan of Trump, but this is not how things are supposed to be done.
Impeachment is a constitutional mechanism. The Twenty-Fifth Amendment is a constitutional mechanism. Mass resignations followed by voluntary testimony to congressional committees are a constitutional mechanism. Overt defiance of presidential authority by the president’s own appointees—now that’s a constitutional crisis.
The above is a little dramatic, but not too far off.
-
It is my understanding that the Senate still hasn't approved all of Trump's appointees. This article seems to imply that the person is a Trump appointee.
This isn’t the work of the so-called deep state. It’s the work of the steady state.
This quote stood out to me. Yeah, sounds like someone trying to justify something they know isn't right.

Point of order: The story is "Senior official in the administration", not "Senior official in the White House". Definition is important as this could just be one of a couple of thousand DC chumps Trump signed off on but never met. There is "senior official", then there is "senior official".
That doesn't mean what this person did isn't coniving, but the news makes it sounds like this is someone well known that Trump interacts with all the time. We don't know that.
Edit: I missed that Mak covered this above.

Now we are getting close to the TRUTH about the DEEP STATE!!!!!!

I'd be willing to bet there is no DeepThroat but a BS story made up by the author.

That was the last time he was relevant.

Saw this tweet from Sean Spicier today:
"Should be easy to flush out the mole in the administration. Parade around the WH with a Confederate flag. Whoever passes out is your Democrat"
I liked this one also.
"If Senator Warren was so concerned about the President’s health she should offer him one of her tribe’s herbal remedies"

Trump should probably be quiet here. Not that it's his style, but it would serve him well when this turns out to be a nobody, not "one of four or five people he knows".
Being quiet will help him when this turns out to be the deputy undersecretary of something or other. By implying it is someone he knows and works with, thus higher up in the admin, it makes him look like he made poor choices.

The Resistance wants their guy or gal to win. Trump is trying to change things in Washington in general and the progressives (I call them liberals) don't like it at all. Look at the Democratic party, socialism is taking hold in their platform (the Bernie effect). The thing is the US has many socialistic programs already including social security and various welfare programs.
What really bothers me is that all of this stuff that was done within the government (deep state) both before and after the election would never have come to light if Hillary had won. This is disturbing.
The progressives want to change the national elections for president to be a straight majority vote versus the electoral system now in place to protect the smaller less populous states from states like California, New York, and Illinois from dominating national politics.

Worth repeating.
This concept seems to have disappeared from current considerations and ought to be touted a lot more... if the mainstream media will allow it.
Goes along with our objections to the urban domination of state politics. Makes me wish we could implement an Electoral College system within states.

Repealing the 17th Amendment would be a good start.

^ Yes, yes, yes. All that in the name of "democracy."
"We have given you a Republic, Ma'am. If you can keep it."

How are you going to have the National Election computer server crash on election night if you don't have a National Election computer server?
