The article said the dog was put down, which seems very unfair to me.

And now we find that even the English can't speak (write) English:

I was afraid of where this was going from the title. Wish I hadn't read it. So the decision was to put the *dog* down?
Has everyone just lost their minds completely? WTF did he think was going to happen? We cannot fix stupid.

Quite possibly a matter of law.  Dog bite.  Human injury.  Dog must be put down.  I would guess.  No statutory exception for "baiting" the dog into doing it.  I'm reminded of the BBT  show where Wolowitz's robot hand got stuck on his whackus.  Head nurse:  "I'm sorry, but we don't have a code for 'man got his penis stuck in a robot hand.'"

I'm with you on being sorry I read this thread.
