I certainly have the occasional contact with anti-vaccine parents through work, but I had no idea that they had an annual conference.

I didn't want to read all that but I did do a search to see if Alex Jones was mentioned.

I can't help but wonder how many of the presenters actually believe what they are pushing and how many are just conning vulnerable people.
It's sad. There are a lot of things that we simply don't know about the body and disease. (E.g. Alzheimer's, Autism, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, etc...)
Humans don't like that. We don't like being told "We simply don't know why." So a conspiracy is easier to accept.
(Ironically, how vaccines work is one of the things we understand very well.)
The long term effects of this movement concern me about the implications for herd immunity. I really don't want to live in a world where Polio and Measles are killers once more.

I have almost no doubt someone somewhere in the MSM will blame Trump

Polio and measles were pretty much wiped out in the USA until we started ignoring the throngs of illegal aliens streaming into the nation.
Part of immigrating here should include being cleared of highly contagious diseases.

People forget that Ellis Island was a quarantine station, not a corridor of unlimited migration.

Related, and it even mentions the anti-Vaccine movement in the article.
I wasn't aware that rotovirus was a new vaccine.

My favorite part of the conference is that it seems to be held concurrently with the HPV Vaccine Injury conference, which is most likely made up of personal injury lawyers trolling for clients.

Anti-vax and garage sales? ???

Anti-vax and garage sales? ???
I surmise the comic implies that the anti-vax people will eventually become convinced that some part of everything they own will kill them/their children so they will sell off nearly new items with regularity.

Anti-vax and garage sales? ???
Their kids die of an easily preventable disease at a young age.
-
^^^I see it more as after the anti-vax children die from diseases that could have been prevented by vaccination, the parents will sell off the toys of their now-dead children.

I wasn't thinking dark enough humor. You're probably right.

And it never gets old, just like lots of un-vaccinated kids.

Not politics, despite some members trying to make it so. And the tenor of this thread's direction is questionable.
Locked.
