Wow. Definitely worth listening to the whole thing.

Also, "product intervention". Their internal documents make 1984 look like a grade school primer.

Edit again. Holy hell - the guy in the video is right. If you type in "Hillary Clinton's email" there are no returns of past searches. There might be soon if everyone tries it, but wow.

Not likely. If you look at trends like they do in the video It was a very popular search, and that;s what got it on the blacklist.

I get basically the same results, wikipedia is the top result in both, in duckduckgo as I do in google.

As a note: Bing autocompletes it quickly -as soon as you type "e" after Hillary you get "emails" followed by "email investigation." Google doesn't autocomplete it at all.

I'll be sticking with the Microsoft. They appear LESS inclined to censor.

There's a reason I've been doing everything I can to limit Google's touch on my life. (Short of buying an iPhone, but I may get there yet.)

But then you got to deal with Apple's version of the above. D if you do, D if you don't.

My main email is google and my secondary is yahoo.

What is the best alternative to the big players out there?

I’d like to retire the current email accounts and start fresh.

A good friend of mine from HS has been working at google for about 5 years or so as a data analyst.
He’s always been a somewhat moderate to left democrat- even ran unsuccessfully for state offices a few times.
When he moved to San Francisco, his fecesbook posts slowly became more and more radical. I recall one a few years back where he stated that he hated libertarians, because they are fascists who stand in the way of progress.
He was constantly posting pics of trips to communist countries (Cuba, Venezuela, China) with his tranny girlfriend.

About all I need to know about google’s viewpoints...

Does Microsoft still sell Windows phones? I have a friend who is an IT manager for a large hospital -- he has a Windows phone and doesn't want to know nuthin' about iPhones or Androids.

Oops -- I guess not.

I don't know that it's the "best," but Juno is still around. I've had a Juno account as my primary e-mail since the late 80s, starting when it was still an MS-DOS program that came on a floppy disk and had local phone numbers to retrieve your e-mail by dialing in over the phone line.

There's apparently a Linux phone slated to come out this year. I'll be keeping an eye on that, but you can be sure I won't be a first gen user. I'd prefer others to deal with the inevitable issues, first.

I'm looking at keeping the googles email for the standard "what's your email" requests that people I don't care about ask me, and also to keep a googles account active for the mapping, android use, etc. However I think I'm going to make proton mail my account for banking, close friends, etc.

Yep, Youtube (owned by Google) has taken it down.  Yeah, they are not section 230 compliant.  They are actin more and more like a publisher then a platform.

Apparently Ms. Gennai has objected that she was lied to by the Project Veritas people.

I find it ironic that the liberal establishment doesn't seem to have any problem when Sasha Baron Cohen lies about who he is so he can ambush people into embarrassing situations and/or statements, but when it's one of their own whose ox is gored they suddenly think it's unconscionable.

At this point I think the only thing that's going to stops these large platforms publishers is stripping them of their sec 230 platform status and letting every crazy idiot sue.

I know that slander and libel have been historically hard to prove against legacy publishers, but the sheer number of lawyers that would take a swing and Facebook or Google just for a settlement must be huge.

The Google will make editorial decisions before search results will show up. They do the same thing on YouTube.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a long lag time before results started popping up. I’m sure there were meetings about how to frame the search results.

On a side note. I just went to the Fox News website and there wasn’t even a mention of the Google story.

Fox is not an ally.

They are controlled opposition at best.

Fox Business has been talking about it since it broke. In fact Maria Bartiromo brought it up when she interviewed the President this morning.

Good know.

I just popped in at Fox News .com and saw nothing.

Pushing it to Fox Business primarily does feel like “burying the lead” to me though.

Fox has always tried to seem reasonable in the spirit of fair and balanced.

Personally I don’t trust them.

I've noticed significant differences between Fox News and Fox Business. I might catch a bit of Fox and Friends on the weekend on Fox News, but my primary TV news source for (not just business) news is Fox Business.

InFox's defense, it is two days later and nothing "new" has happened with the story (no new videos or other whistleblowers coming forward), so it gets driven off the front page by Newer news.\

Did you do a search to see what they said when the story broke ??

Leaked Google Doc Describes Shapiro, Peterson, PragerU As ‘Nazis Using The Dog Whistles’

Quote
"The email apparently was sent as part of the Google 'transparency-and-ethics' group internal communications and suggests that content from PragerU, Jordan Peterson, and Ben Shapiro should be disabled from the 'suggestion feature,'" Project Veritas reports.

"Today it is often 1 or 2 steps to nazis, if we understand that PragerU, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro et al are nazis using the dog whistles you mention in step 1," reads the email that appears to have been sent to over a dozen other Google employees. "I can receive these recommendations regardless of the content of what I'm looking at, and I have recorded thousands of internet users sharing the same experience. I don’t think correctly identifying far-right content is beyond our capabilities. But if it is, why not go with Meredith’s suggestion of disabling the suggestion feature?"

If I recall correctly, they get 60% of all online ad revenue in the entire world.

When you are a globalist corporation sucking up 60% of worldwide online ad revenue you are more powerful than a US President who is incredibly unpopular among the bureaucrats he is tasked with leading.

Google is rumored to be in bed with the CIA and the CIA has been no friend to Trump.

My late wife was from South America. I've used Google Maps to locate her brother's house, and it's right there in streetview.
