I've got me a Chinese bush hog, and noticed today that one of the zerks was busted. I unscrewed it, went to my trusty variety packs of zerks, and nothing fits.
I've got 1/8" and 1/4" zerks. This looks to be either 3/16" or maybe metric? I have no idea. I tried googling and even called the dealer I bought it from. The dealer doesn't know (WTF?!?) and I can't find anything on it on google. Amazon seems to only sell 1/8" and 1/4", plus metric variety boxes, but the metric boxes just say "M6, M8, M10. Is that supposed to be MM? I took the thing off with a 7/16" wrench.
I'm so confused. Any help?

I suspect metric.

M6, M8 and M10 are metric thread sizes, roughly corresponding to thread diameter in mm. Take it to your local hardware store and see which metric nuts will thread onto the zerk. That will give you the M size.

Ditto Tommy and Rocket ...metric. Prob an M5 or M6.
Being a country boy now, you need one of these...

If you really want to go all-in, add a set of thread pitch gauges.

Just get one that is close and fire up your impact driver and ram it home!!! I am pretty sure the Chinese metal will rethread itself to what ever you choose. ;)

At least it was threaded and not one of the “drive in” junk cheap ones

I just ordered a metric assortment. I reckon that will take care of it and I can stop ranting.

I always thought the phrase was "metric shitload", this metric assortment confuses me. ;)

I vote for F drill and a 1/4" tap. See, they all fit!

Problem solved.

That book could get me fired at work. I want it.

It's awesome that that's the video you linked to. I'm subscribed to Bad Obsession Motorsports, and Project Binky is an great hole to go down. Those guys had to change pretty much everything.
