Or if trenches, snakes, alligators, electricity and spikes are too expensive, just shoot them in the legs.

Considering their track record, do we have any reason to believe any of these quotes? 

The way I look at it, this whole business with the Southern border the last few years has highlighted how bad our immigration and refugee laws have been.  I think people knew there was a problem, but not just how screwed up it was.
