UA professor arrested on wire fraud charge
https://arktimes.com/arkansas-blog/2020/05/11/ua-professor-arrested-on-wire-fraud-charge
Saw it first here, but it is just referring to other sites. Paul Joseph Watson links to them a lot on twitter.
https://summit.news/2020/05/12/arkansas-professor-arrested-for-concealing-communist-chinese-funding/
The first link is full of ads such that it is hard to even see the article.
The charge says Ang got more than $5 million in federal funding for research projects but failed to disclose payment from Chinese universitirs and Chinese companies in violation of UA policy. The charge says he failed to disclose this outside income.
The charge explains how the investigation began when a library staffer discovered an e-mail between Ang and a Chinese researcher that revealed outside contacts.
The charge continues to describe how talent recruitment is part of a Chinese government effort to improve civilian and military programs. Ang disclosed some, but not all, of his work in seeking Chinese scholars. It says he should have disclosed potential conflicts from outside contacts with UA, particularly with Chinese companies.
Not sure what the extent of this is, but I am sure there are many more like him.

There was a similar news story a few months ago, about multiple academics having improper ties to the Chi-Coms. Here's what I found from a quick Duck-Duck-Googling.

Drive-by quote:
Useful idiot - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Useful_idiot
In political jargon, a useful idiot is a derogatory term for a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending the cause's goals, and who is cynically used by the cause's leaders. The term was originally used during the Cold War to describe non-communists regarded as susceptible to communist propaganda and manipulation.

Some people still think the U.S. would be much better off today if he hadn't overdone it.
