Title: ‘Upward-thrusting buildings ejaculating into the sky’

‘Upward-thrusting buildings ejaculating into the sky’ – do cities have to be so sexist?
https://amp.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2020/jul/06/upward-thrusting-buildings-ejaculating-cities-sexist-leslie-kern-phallic-feminist-city-toxic-masculinity?__twitter_impression=true

Quote
Glass ceilings and phallic towers. Mean streets and dark alleys. Road names and statues of men. From the physical to the metaphorical, the city is filled with reminders of masculine power. And yet we rarely talk of the urban landscape as an active participant in gender inequality. A building, no matter how phallic, isn’t actually misogynist, is it? Surely a skyscraper isn’t responsible for sexual harassment, the wage gap, or even the glass ceiling, whether it has a literal one up top or not?

There are other places to live aside from big cities.

I thought this quote was amusing.  That isn't all that long ago.  Maybe I am just getting old.

What if skyscrapers are built in a certain way because the goal was to get many, many floors worth of offices onto the same, small plot of land, and not because someone wanted them to look like giant dude junk? Crazy, but just consider it as a theory.

I am so ashamed. I need to think about how knowing how stuff actually works in the real world is sexist and patriarchal. I should spend less time understanding how accomplished men accomplished things that were useful to people; and instead understand how the greatness of what men have created makes ungrateful, clueless womyn feel sad feelz.

Analogy:  Eskimos.  Number of words for snow.

Quim, hence quimic.

I hope this thread isn't evulving in the wrong direction.  But after all, it started with the gals' phallic metaphor regarding buildings.
