Title: Roundtable - I gotta ask
Post by: Guest on March 05, 2005, 04:44:26 PM
You Know?  [tm]

I don't believe we ever discussed Tables

I actually prefer a square table , if a dining room adding a leaf (s) makes it rectangle.

Square  for lamp,  sq/ rect  for coffee, and worktables.

Your Preference?

For dinning tables, if modern it should have a leaf option.  Sweetest table I ever way was an antique Mission set for eight several years back, chairs included.  Out of my justifiable price range, but DAMNN!!!!

For my home, a "cheap-arid equine" octaganal glass top table serves my needs.  The glass is a bit scratched from the prior owner and his "habits", but I like it.  Fits the space I have,  confounds the cats when they "walk on air" and one day it will be an antique.

Rectangular tables, and I don't like leafs.  My dinning room now is quite small so the table is a small rectangle (nearly a square) with only 4 chairs.  I would like to get an 8 or 10 person table that is rectangular and no leafs...just a big table!

Out here? Definitely tide tables.
In a SHTF scenario, a Table of Organization and Equipment would come in handy.

Wedge, that's what we went with.  No leafs. 8 person solid table custom made outta VA.  Had them make it about an inch taller so knees don't hit.  Tall family.  Cost was compatable with local store prices.

I like oblong tables.
Rectangular, but with rounded edges.
And uh, filled with guns.

Periodically multiplication.

I like round tables the best if you have a group of 6 or more because everyone is mostly facing one another and makes for better conversation.  A nice round table takes up less space as well.

Well, if any of you know where to find a nice flip-top dining table, I'm in the market for one.

It's a small square table that has a hinged top.  The top unfolds to lay flat as the entire top turns 90 degrees to accomodate the new, longer rectangular top.

I think we should conserve and just use 3 table legs, a tripod table.

Round cause I usually hurt myself on the corners of square ones.

For breakfast, or informal stuff, definitely round.

For Dinner, has to be rectangular.  and Long.  My Dad has his great-grandaddy's dining room table.  We eat at it often.  Smiley

When I was looking for furniture, I couldn't find an asymmetric dining table for love nor money. I found plenty of round and oval tables, but nothing caught my eye.

My house is very rectilinear. I've contented myself with angling most of the furniture, but I'd still like to find asymmetric tables.
