SMOKE TRAILS?
Two up in northern Colorado plus one near Laramie Wyoming.

Pretty dramatic.
Also one apparently starting near Boulder, but I haven't been watching the news.

I thought this was a new way of spraying the chemicals by satellite instead of using high altitude jets. Now I am disappointed. I wanted a conspiracy. =D

Yeap,new contrails.

Do satellites smoke in space? They probably shouldn't anyway.

Much like computers and TVs, satellites run on smoke. If you let the smoke out, they don't run anymore.

Satellites have taken the place of many fire towers.

^ I imagine if you selected the right spectrum, you could filter out every thing but smoke. They may have one like that in their selections, but I haven't spotted it.
Not much visible this afternoon, but locally the smoke is pretty strong. I'm not venturing out today. It's not as bad as when my west neighbors use their fireplace in our prevailing westerly wind. There are times I think they're cremating yak guts.

This notice is up 3:00AM MDT:
GOES-East - Sector view: Northern Rockies - GeoColor images are temporarily not updating. We are working to restore image production as quickly as possible. For now, you may refer to the other GOES imagery sites listed on our resources page. Thank you for your patience.
But it looks like it's updating OK anyhow.
