I was unaware we were moving forward with this: Building a Versatile Test Reactor (VTR) to try and catch our nuclear energy program up with some of the other first world countries. It appears they want to put it in Idaho, on Idaho National Lab land.
It would be neat if we could kickstart a modern reactor program. I wonder, given that it hasn't started yet, if this is something that will survive Biden (or more precisely, pressure from his far left green contingent)?

Highly doubt this will survive Biden/Harris. Even if they don't cut it outright the EPA will drop so many new and improved regs on it it will take 300 years just to read them

Well of course it will be built in Idaho. If the frickin' thing goes critical and kablooey, hardly anyone will be inconvenienced, as opposed to Tennessee.

You make an excellent case for locating the reactor in D.C.
