Nothing like the “pro-life” party eliminating healthcare during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

California will survive without this $$ for now -- but their frail, pathetic patriarchal system they are so desperate to protect won’t.

He sounds more like the Portland Mayor than the Portland Mayor does.

Got context?

https://abc7.com/donald-trump-california-abortion-healthcare-funding/8831456/

CA is violating section 508 of the HHS appropriations act, and so they are not allowed to receive HHS funding to supplement their health care systems.

I was actually more rolling my eyes at the "patriarchy" talk than the reason for it. I'm getting sick of lefty pols, the MSM , and social media all screaming "patriarchy!" for every damn thing. Fix your *expletive deleted*ing broken record.

I get a little sick of political talk making the assumption that Lack of Govt Healthcare means No Healthcare.

I would say that this is true for a subset of the population.  I used to work in the FQHC system, which operates as a safety net healthcare provider for people with no or inadequate insurance.  Without the money from the Federal and State government, either from grants or funneled through the Medicaid system, those clinics would close, and there would be no safety net healthcare provider for that population.  Of course, that gets into the debate whether healthcare is a right, and why should people with guns take my money and use it to support people on welfare.

My sister told me she has signed like three recall petitions this year already.

I'm sure that a lot of people will sign a recall petition and think they've done their part.  The problem, like here in Nevada, is that there were (last I saw) 4 different groups with 4 different recall petitions for Governor Sisolak.  That effectively divides the recall vote into fourths.  Any single petition with roughly 240,000 signatures would qualify. If 500,000 people all signed one of those petitions, then it could work out that each only has about 125,000 signatures and none would qualify. The more groups there are, the lower the chance of any single group getting enough of the pot of signatures.

Running a false flag petition campaign would be an effective ploy for the other side.

It also gets into the debate about why people in states that don't have problems should pay for such programs in states like California that go out of their way to attract people with no visible sources of income. If California wants to run clinics for people with no income, God bless them. But don't expect the population of flyover country to pay for it.

But then that gets into the debate on the populous and affluent states subsidizing flyover country.  Many of those flyover states receive far more in Federal funding from the Treasury than they contribute to the Treasury.  Why should I pay more for a gallon of gas in Washington so you can drive on public roads in Montana?

You see this on a smaller scale right here in Washington, in which Western Washington, and the Puget Sound area in particular, subsidizes Eastern Washington, which consumes far more state revenue than it produces.  The people who advocate for Eastern Washington to be its own state don't seem to have an answer for this.

Federal gasoline taxes are higher in Washington than in Montana?

Actually they do.  The answer is: "We will trade fewer government handouts in exchange for more freedom."
