I have a dashcam in all three of our vehicles, one with both front and back cameras. I catch all sorts of shenanigans with it, including some close calls (jokers running lights, making a left turns while failing to yield, etc). I'm a defensive driver, so I always manage to avoid collisions that would have been inevitable to an oblivious driver with no situational awareness.
Now that I'm getting back into riding (traded a '21 DWM Luger and RIA 1911 GI for a low-miles Suzuki C50 Boulevard in great shape), I would like a helmet cam to serve a similar role as my dashcams.
I put the cart before the horse and purchased a Gopro Hero 8 Black and a helmet mount as well as a 256gb Samsung EVO select U3 micro SD card and 3 spare batteries with charger.
I should have posted this before making that purchase.
Does anyone use a Gopro as a helmet cam? This will be my first Gopro. Any advice, beside riding carefully?

I don't use a GoPro for a helmet camera, but many people do. Pretty much every youtube motorcycle video was made using a gopro.

GoPro - the standard for action recording these days.
