Hope she's happy
Passenger-driver argument caused Yangtze River bus plunge in China

Is it me but at 0:13 does it look like he intentionally steers the bus toward the railing?

That is what it looks like.

Yes.

That is what it looks like.
Agreed.
Guess he had enough of her sh!t. Maybe they were married. =D
-
That was my impression also. The only alternative I can think of is he thought he was going the other way and overcorrected a lot. The deliberate action is more likely.

Part of the video is split screen, and watching that, one explanation could be he was trying to avoid the oncoming car that he hit. He may have been hyper-focused on that and then just went over the edge.
Pretty crappy guardrail system there.

I'm gonna say the driver won that argument.

Guardrails aren't designed to stop 30,000 pound buses from plowing through them.

What I was thinking was rebared cement curbing / steel posts or something on a bridge like that. A motorcycle would have gone through what was there.

Yes, but... China. Lives and labor are cheap. Durable products are expensive.

How much extra weight would concrete barriers weigh? Probably more than they wanted to account for.
-
It really looks like he did that on purpose. He looked at her, cranked the wheel one rev to the left, and held it there over the edge. There's also zero indication from smoke or tire marks that he ever came out of the throttle, much less hit the brakes. He rode that bus all the way down.
On the car rail, it looks like there's an ~18" concrete curb topped with a steel pipe system set into that concrete. Judging by the red car and the motorcycle there's a meter of vehicle stopping stuff. That's probably pretty standard. The little fence thing he took out last is just the pedestrian fence on the outside of the sidewalk, not really a "guardrail". There's a bunch or bridges in the US that have a similar setup that I think a bus would blow right through.

That's an interesting possibility. Heck of a way to file for divorce, though.
-
Either way, everyone knows that drivers of big trucks always swing the steering wheel over hard whenever there is something in their path. Movies told me that.
-
If he did it on purpose, his face seemed pretty calm at the end, at least from the crappy resolution video. Maybe it's an Asian thing.
-
It certainly looked to me like he did it on purpose. He turned the steering wheel a full 360-degree turn and just held it there.
"I'll show this b***h who's in charge!"

Peace at last! =)

The media loves the phrase "bus plunge". It is almost always used in any story where a bus... plunges.
