That would certainly get my attention.  I guess at some point you remember the dog does not have opposable thumbs.

With teeth and claws, opposable thumbs become redundant. >:D

I've had dogs that would always have a stick in their mouth. That's not much different. He might drop it in front of you expecting you to throw it for him.

I've had dogs that would always have a stick in their mouth. That's not much different. He might drop it in front of you expecting you to throw it for him.
Just throw it well enough he doesn't try to catch it.
