I don't have any black powder firearms and it's always been a real treat for me to get to shoot one because I love them. The smell and the smoke is just so much fun.

I have the Swiss, and it's the bomb, but a concern would be import and anti-gunners.

Post by: French G. on October 03, 2021, 09:02:15 PM: I am sitting on(almost literally) 6 lbs. That should last me awhile. Last I got two years ago at an estate sale for $5/lb. Guy who bought all the reloading stuff right before me didn't want to deal with it. Local gun shows don't allow it in the building.

Is there anything that works better with real BP, or is it just authenticity? I do know different substitutes measure differently, some are weight equivalency and some are volume equivalent to BP. So there is that I guess.

BP works best in rocket recovery ejection charges. Pyrodex can be used, but only in special recovery equipment that allows a pressure build to get a complete burn and gas development. It's kind of a pain in the posterior and not as simple or reliable as BP.
